Bitty Booties

Here is what I was making yesterday. The Bitty Booties by Heather. I am sending these off with the present to my cousin who had a little girl last Tuesday. They are actually very easy to do. I made mine out of some red felt and heart ribbon. I think next time they will turn out better when I have some more practice. I have also been knitting the Cozy Tank Top from the last post, and I have nearly finished the front of it. I have used some stash yarn which is brown and bright pink, and Isabelle likes it because of the pink of course. I could not do much on it yesterday as my shoulder and neck were still sore, but I seem much better today. Hopefully I will be able to get a lot of knitting done today. Isabelle is much much better too so the end of the week should be much improved and happier. I hope that you all have a wonderful day too.

And More Books

What a weekend. Very very tiring. I had my friend and her son Jesse over yesterday. Isabelle seemed better in the morning, so we took them to see the animal farm, no photos as I forgot my camera but my friend took hers so when I get a copy I will post one of Isabelle feeding the guinea pigs. When we got home though Isabelle was all tearful and upset as she had sore ears, and another trip to the doctors and eardrops as well, and I spent a night up most of the night with about 3 hours sleep, and a crook shoulder and neck. I am hoping this will be gone by tomorrow. Isabelle does seem better today though, so I am hoping she is on the mend.
Now after a few emails to the book company I finally received my books that I had ordered about a month ago. The pictures are from And So To Bed, which I think will be my all time favourite book so far. It has toys, boys and girls knit in about equal quantities, bathrobes, socks, slippers, nightcaps, etc. All the patterns are absolutely gorgeous. I have pictured some of my favourites which I plan on doing soon. I also took some pics of my favourite toys, but I will save that for tomorrow. First up is the Cozy Tank Top, followed by the Snug Cardigan and Snug Socks.
Next up is the Dream Cardigan which is absolutely so cute, and the cartoons that accompany the garments really make it stand out.

This is the Snooze Pj Case. I can see making some of these in different colors as baby gifts.

I also ordered The Happy Hooker book. I am not really very good at crocheting, but my aunt, who is extremely good at crochet showed me a few steps earlier this year, and thought that I would be able to catch on pretty quickly, so when I saw this I thought when the kids are finished their holidays, I may be able to have some time to read it, and eventually practice some stitches. These two are my favourite patterns to date.
Short N Sweet and Preppy Spring Jacket from The Happy Hooker book.

Also, I would have had this sewn up last night, but since I was trying to make Isabelle feel better, it did not get finished until today. It is the Argyll Cardigan from Simple Knits. I adjusted the pattern to be striped instead, and made the bands longer than required. I also bought some little orange heart buttons which are quite bright, but matches the cardigan perfectly. It is a lot brighter than shown here in the picture. I am still playing with the settings on my camera, but so far none have obtained what I wanted so I will have to try some more. Well that is all for now as Isabelle has a friend over and they are getting quite busy, Paul has just returned from work, and Lachie is recovering from our 1 and 1/2 hour walk today.

Quick Baby Knits

I have been knitting, but none of the things that I am supposed to be knitting, as usual. My cousin and his wife had their baby girl on Tuesday, Sarah Alice, 8 pound 9oz I think, so now Liam is a big brother. I still have not finished their present yet, so that is next on the list. I have to post it to them as my aunt is not going to see them until September, and if I wait until then the pressie will not fit her. My sister's friend had her little girl yesterday, but we have not been told her name as yet, so two baby girls in 1 week. We are expecting another girl in August from our neighbour, but I have already finished her gift.

So onto the pictures, the top one is the matinee jacket from Baby Cashmerino, which I am doing the 6-9 month old size. The bottom is rolling but it has an edging added on afterwards. I also finished one sleeve. Next up we have the argyle cardigan from Special Knits. What there is no argyle, well I changed it as I saw a similar one on somebody's blog, and now cannot recall whose, where they put in stripes on the body of it. They did a pink and green version, but I quite like the red and orange, nice and bright. Only the sleeves to go now as the body was knit in one piece. Nice and quick, since this was started on Tuesday and I did the bands last night whilst watching a movie with Lachlan. Isabelle is recovering but I have noticed she has been really moody since being on this medicine. I do not know if the cough medicine is affecting her moods as she has never had this before. I will see how she goes today without it. I actually took her to the local shopping centre to do the art activities yesterday, so it got her out of the house. Tomorrow we have a friend and her son coming over whom we have not seen since May, so that should be good. We might be going to see the animal farm tomorrow so it will get the kids out of the house, and me too. I think we start climbing the walls when we get bored so a nice walk and a new activity should be good. Well that is all for now. Off to do some more housework (I know boring) and knit up some sleeves. Hopefully by the weekend the little red and orange cardi should be finished.

Have a look at Daisy would you. The most spoilt cat in this house I think, yes we have 3 cats. Daisy will be 1 year old in November. Rosie had her 3 kittens in her cat basket in the garage, and Daisy was the biggest of the 3, then the 2 boys overtook her. She is so lovable, and Isabelle adores her. She carries her around and Daisy lets her do practically anything to her, though nothing nasty which is good. This is her favourite place in the whole house to sleep now. Over the last 3 weeks we can always find her here or on the other chair in the front room, depending on which one has the sun shining on it. She will sleep there for hours at a time, and usually we forget that she is even there. She will follow you around the house when she wants something, until you give it to her. She will even sit in front of the shower while your in it, and then she tries to lick the water off your legs when you hop out. She is an adorable very friendly cat and we love her lots.
So you may have gathered by now that there will be no knitting pictures today. I have been doing a few rows on some different projects, but nothing much to show you all, just a bit boring. I am hoping by the end of the week to have something to show you all. I have a few hours to myself today since Dad took Isabelle to his house. She is much better today, after we made a quick visit to the doctors last night. She had a horrible cough, and her ears were red. After spending $40.00 on medication, she is actually looking a lot better. The awful cough mixture that she says tastes horrible is working very well, she has not coughed all morning. At least my kids take their medicine very well, no tantrums or screaming matches to get the medicine down. Isabelle actually licks the bottom of the medicine cup if she likes it.

I have also been reading some new blogs and printing out some little sewing patterns too. I do enjoy reading some of the sewing blogs, which I think their work is wonderful. I have added some more to my sidebar, and have a few more to add. Just by looking at their work inspires me to do more. I actually made some more pants for Isabelle yesterday, and I will show you when I complete a top to go with it. Some of the sewing blogs are knitters too. I enjoy sewing, and I tend to do it when I feel like I need to accomplish something quick and easy. Next up I will make some little baby booties which I printed out today. When I have made a pair I will show you where to get the pattern from if you are interested in making some. Well I had better go and finish some housework. I finally ventured into the laundry and did 2 baskets of ironing yesterday whilst chatting to my sister when she came to visit. Only have 1 more basket to go, then I can sit down and relax for the rest of the afternoon. Well I hope that you all have a fantastic day.

Sewing and a bit of Knitting

Isabelle's scarf is finally finished. It has sat in the pile of UFO's since I knitted the other 2 birthday scarves for her friends. I sat in bed last night with Isabelle beside me, (yes her cough and runny nose have returned from kinder) and as she fell asleep I finished up the scarf. I used 2 balls of Cha Cha yarn and 1 and 1/2 balls of white crepe yarn which I have had in my stash for about 10 years. I do not where I got the Cha Cha yarn from last year, but it is a bright pink and white fluffy acrylic yarn, and is not itchy or hard. Isabelle likes it, even though I could have made it a bit thinner, and added some length to it.

I also finally took a picture of the back of Paul's jumper. I have not cast on for the front yet, yes I know slack, slack, but I was busy yesterday trying out the pattern for the Point Kitty, which Hilary of Wee Wonderfuls has made. I did not like the sewing up of this little cat, but after she was stuffed, she looked quite cute. I only got to sew some eyes on and tie a red ribbon around her neck, and Isabelle had claimed her for herself, thus naming her Little Red Riding Cat. I don't know where she got that name as I have never read her that book, but it makes me laugh anyway. I will try to borrow her sometime today to embroider on the nose and sew on the stripes on her back. Isabelle does not like the stripes on her head, so we are not adding those. Hilary makes wonderful little toys on her website Wee Wonderfuls which is listed on my sidebar. By the way, can you see Daisy curled up on the chair behind Little Red Riding cat. This is her favourite place to sleep, because the sun shines in here in the morning, and if she is not annoyed by anyone she will sleep here for most of the day. So that is it for today, off to cast on for the front of Paul's jumper, and try to make Isabelle more comfortable. Hope you all have a lovely day.

Happy Anniversary

Today is my mum and dad's 38th wedding anniversary! This picture was taken a few years back at Christmas, hence the pic in the jammies look. They have gone out for the day today, and are having dinner somewhere tonight.
Mum and Dad met when mum was about 15 years old, and Dad was 25 years old. They met through my Auntie Helen, who is mum's sister. My mum was 17 years old when she had me, and Dad's parents came to stay with them to help out. Mum's mum passed when she was 10 years old so she really did not have anyone to help out so luckily Dad's parents came down to help her. So I hope that they both have a wonderful day today!

As for the knitting, well I have finished the back of Paul's jumper, and will cast on for the front today. I am past the armholes of the little aran sweater too, so hopefully by the weekend I will have more progress to show you all. I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Good afternoon. I hope this color is readable. I have been rushing around while Isabelle has her last day of kinder for the term. Cleaning the car was one of them, which I hate doing because Paul takes it to work, and I hate mess so I need to clean it. Anyway on to the knitting progress. Thank you all for your wonderful comments about the little argyll vest. Very much appreciated I can assure you.
Now I started the next night project last night which is a Baby Aran Sweater. I am knitting the 6-12 month size. There are 4 sizes in all, mine is the 3rd largest. I love doing the bobbles on this, not having to make 4 or 5 stitches out of one stitch, this bobble is created over 4 stitches itself. Very easy to do, so this should not take too long to do. I am knitting it in a mint color, and omitting those pockets. Babies do not need pockets, unless there is something to put in there like a knitted toy. I am using more Pixie Heirloom yarn but this time I am using 8 ply instead of 4 ply. There is about 230 metres on each ball so this should not use too much. I can see myself knitting quite a few of these little jumpers, so easy and the patten is 26 rows, and my progress here is on row 20, and I have just started to get the hang of the pattern.

I have also added a little Ticker counter to the top of my blog, which may be a bit hard to read in the black print. If I put it on my sidebar, the sidebar disappears to the end of the blog which is so annoying. Hopefully this will keep me in check about buying more yarn. I did not get a chance to do any of the back of Paul's jumper yesterday, but I did dash off to Lincraft for their sale. They sell wool, fabric, and other crafty things. Anyway they had Hot Socks yarn for only $10.00 a ball for 100gm ball. How great is that. I used to pay about $17.00 a ball, and their colors were not too bad either. They had no green colorway at the
store that I went to, but mum had bought me a ball of the green in the city store near where she works. I am planning on using the blue one for Paul's socks, and they need to be knitted longer at the top. I always seem to make them too short, and have yarn left over, so the next pair I will try to use up more yarn and meet his request at the same time. So seeing as though I bought this yesterday it does not effect my stash busting or yarn buying counter today. I will see how long I last. Now all I need to do is figure out how to put progress bars in the sidebar to keep track of my knitting projects. Hopefully it won't be too hard to do. Well I am off to do some knitting on Paul's jumper, and hopefully an updated shot of the back piece on the weekend. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, even if it is school holidays.

Little Argyll Vest

Argyll Slip Over

Pattern: Baby Cashmerino 2 book
Size: 6-9 months
Started: 13th June
Finished: 14th June
Yarn: Heirloom Pixie wool 4 ply and scraps of Sirdar for the argyll.

I did not even use 1 ball of the blue Pixie yarn for this vest. There is about a quarter of the ball left. That is allright for only $3.73 a ball. So this vest only cost about $4.00 to knit up, plus some buttons when I find some. It was a very easy knit, apart from that argyll part (I detest doing them) but I have figured out that if I keep practising I may get better. This will go into the baby gift box of presents, for a newborn in the future.

I did not get any time yesterday to finish the back of Paul's jumper so that will be on the agenda today. After the party at McDonald's (which I ended up with a slight headache) noise induced I think, we did grocery shopping and popped into see my parents. Paul is still home with a virus and a touch of gastro so he will be home tomorrow as well, and then the kids are on school holidays. Well I am off to search for another fill in project for tonight, which hopefully will knit up quickly. Maybe I should finish the back of the hooded baby jumper I started a little while ago. Hope you all have a lovely day.

Zara, Zara, Zara

Good morning. An early post today. Paul took Isabelle to kinder this morning, and then he is off to the doctor's since he has been unwell for a few days. I am taking Isabelle to her second birthday party this afternoon at McDonald's again. At least she will be tired out early. She fell asleep at 7:00 last night after being worn out from kinder.
Anyway I had better get to the knitting content since that is why your reading this isn't it. I have been still knitting on Paul's soccer jumper, (and yes Australia won their first match), and no I did not watch it, but saw it on highlights throughout the day when I passed the television set. If I get time to do any today then I should be able to get up to the neck decreases, I only have about 20 rows to do till then. I have only been knitting it during the day as it is a bit dark at night, and yes I do look at my knitting even though it is stocking stitch. I watch tv whilst I am knitting, but I like to make sure I haven't dropped any stitches.

So I started another project to do at nighttime. This is the argyle vest from the Baby Cashmerino 2 book, which I love to knit items from. I am doing the 2nd size. I am using Heirloom Pixie 4 ply in a bright blue, which is quite nice. So far this is the back. I knitted this in one day, which wasn't very long. I am halfway up the front now, and have nearly finished the argyle on the front. I will be glad to finish that part, since I do not like doing it. I have not even used 1 ball of the blue yet, so I might be able to finish the back and front with just 1 ball. It goes a long way and the yarn is so soft.

I have also been buying more yarn, and yes I know I said I wouldn't but the Wool Shack had a sale on Zara which I could not pass up. Here are 2 of the colors that I have bought, and there is a dark purple and a green which I did not take pictures of. I love this yarn, especially for kids. It only cost $4.90 a ball, and here in Australia you usually pay around $8.90 a ball, so I think that is a great bargain. I also have my 2 books coming soon and I have just ordered Vintage Style and a Charlie and Lola book for Isabelle. Her birthday is in August, so I thought I might put a few small things together for her birthday. Well I am going to do some ironing whilst I have some free time, and hopefully make a dent in the pile before I go out. Bye for now.

Light Pink and Denim Blue colorways.

How Normal Are You?

You Are 50% Normal
(Somewhat Normal)

While some of your behavior is quite normal...
Other things you do are downright strange
You've got a little of your freak going on
But you mostly keep your weirdness to yourself

How Normal Are You?

I just did this quiz to see how normal I was. Well I am halfway there!

Gardening, Knitting and Sewing

Here are the pyjamas that I made Isabelle on the weekend. I bought the white singlet and stitched on the heart shape in the same fabric as the pants. I have used this pattern a few times, and it is quite easy. I am no expert sewer by any means. Excuse all the creases in them, Isabelle had just gotten out of bed, so I took her photo when she was about to play with her barbie dolls. I also went to the market and bought a few small things. There were only about 10 stalls there, and some more arriving just as I was leaving, which was good as I just missed the rain.

Today Paul, Isabelle and I emptied out the sand from her sand pit and put it into the new garden bed. The sand needed replacing since water had gotten into it, and it will be good drainage for the plants. I also pulled out some silverbeet plants that had gone to seed and tidied up the whole vegie garden a bit. I will be putting in some new vegies next weekend if it does not rain.

I also just finished cooking some sausage rolls with Isabelle who helped to roll up the meat in the pastry. She does not eat any red meat at all so I know she wont eat any of them, and neither will Lachlan. He prefers meat pies, but Paul and I will eat them.

And finally some knitting news, I have just started the armhole decreases on the back of Paul's jumper so I should be able to finish this tomorrow hopefully. I also started a little baby vest last night, since the other color is hard to knit with at night. Well I am now off to do my dishes and a bit of ironing, all the boring mundane things we have to do on a daily basis. Bye for now.

Long Weekend

Good morning. The sun is not out today so excuse any dimly lit pictures on the blog. I thought I would show a close-up of the pattern on the sock that I showed yesterday. You can see it better in this picture, and excuse any glare from my very white leg. I do not suntan at all, just burn red so I avoid it all costs.

Isabelle and I had a lovely day yesterday visiting Gillian and her husband Robert, and Kitty the world's cuddliest looking cat. Isabelle said that she is very silky, and could not stop patting her. I think Kitty enjoyed it. Thank you Gillian for your lovely tour of your beautiful house and garden. I felt a bit guilty when we left because Gillian still looked so sick. I hope you are feeling better today so that you will be allright for your market on Monday. Gillian runs a stall at St. Anne's Winery which is on the Western Highway towards Ballarat, so if you are interested in buying any wine, having a nice lunch and buying any goodies from over 50 stalls, then take a nice drive on Monday between 10:00 and 3:00 and pop in and say hello to Gillian and Robert.

So after my visit I stopped off at Bargain Box Fabrics to pick up some more of my Zhivago yarn for my cardigan, and what did I spy on the shelf but some beautiful colored wool which is Cleckheaton Country Prints. The actual color is actually nicer than this. It says color 20 on the label. I have had this pattern from The Australian Women's Weekly set aside since Paul said that he would like a jumper like that. I think the color I chose is much nicer. Sorry for the big flash in the picture of the jumper. I started this about 4:30 yesterday and this is the progress. Since the soccer started yesterday I thought that I would try to finish the jumper before the soccer ends, which is in July sometime. I am sure that there is a competition for this somewhere but cannot remember where it is, so I will see how I go knitting it. I will get Paul to model it when it is finished. His jumpers always turn out so nice on him and have a perfect fit, now if only the same would apply to mine. Oh by the way there is a market on at Melton at Macpherson Park tomorrow. I assume it starts at 10:00am so hopefully the rain will hold off until after I have gone to it. They are having 150 stalls so I hope it will be a good one. Well I hope you all have a lovely weekend, and a nice long one at that!

Blue Friday

Finally the socks are finished.
Pattern: Jigsaw Heirloom pattern. Broken rib at the top and stockinette stitch at the bottom.
Size: Ladies.
I used just over half a ball of Opal Magic. Do not remember what color it was, but I love the different blues in it. I could have knitted them quite a bit longer for my legs I think. Excuse the bright white legs, it is winter and I never get a suntan, just red and back to white. I am so glad these are finished. I decided yesterday to get them out of the way so I can start on my next pair.

I also finished my sister's hat yesterday, so that wasn't bad for 2 days. I used a ball and half of Patons Twister which I purchased last year from Big W. I don't know if they make it any more, but it is just a mix of blues together. It is a bit hard to see the cable pattern in it, but if you look closely you might be able to.
Pattern: Jenny Hat from Jo Sharp's Gathering book.
Size: 1 size fits all I assume.
Modifications: I kept using the 3.5mm needles instead of changing to 4mm needles as my sister seems to have a small shaped head so I needed it to be a bit tighter.
Isabelle reluctantly modelled the hat for me. Excuse the bags under her eyes, since she has not been sleeping enough due to her cold.

And here is Tess in her little raincoat. It is fleece underneath so it keeps her nice and warm and dry. I have not taken it off her since she got it, and she loves it. Well that's all for now, hope you all have a good weekend.

Thursday, June 8, 2006

The washcloth is finished. I finished it on Tuesday but since Blogger was being difficult I have not been able to post. For Rachael, who commented and I could not find her blog through the comments, I used Heirloom 8 Ply cotton. It worked out nicely I think. Isabelle used it in the shower yesterday morning, and said it was nice and soft. Both she and Lachlan have sore throats so I have had to deal with 2 sickies, who are both driving me nuts by fighting with each other and now are both home today too. After next week is 2 weeks of school holidays so I will need to make some plans to keep them entertained. I also started knitting a hat for my sister yesterday and have nearly finished it. I will take a picture later on today if I complete it, and try to post tomorrow hopefully with no further problems. Have a nice day.

Just A Few Things

to show you all. I borrowed Gillian's Mason-Dixon book and finally knitted up a dishcloth. As you can see I haven't finished it yet, but it is over halfway done. I used a light green and medium blue cotton for this one. I like the way that it knits up, such a clever design and it only has 12 rows to the pattern which are easy to memorise. I used cotton from the stash so its a good thing.

I took Isabelle for a walk yesterday and today, about an hour each way, so a good 2 hour walk. I popped into the local newsagency today and they had a Sandra magazine full of baby patterns, and some very cute ones at that so I just had to buy it. I am hoping to make the rose colored cardi on the front one day. I also popped another knitted baby hat into the picture, which is a light blue with a slight mauve color mixed into it. I am hoping someone is going to have a baby boy in the mix, but you never know. I actually gave my mom's friend one of the pink striped baby hats that I made the other week as a gift for her brand new granddaughter Emily. She has been taping the Knitty Gritty shows for mum and I to watch. They had Lily Chin on the last episode showing different stitch patterns. Some of them were interesting, and I would eventually like to try some of them. I am going to mum's tonight to watch the next episode.

Finally, this is what I have been knitting on the last 2 days. We have been having a bit of a problem sorting out some things, so to try and take my frustrations out on something, I went through my stash and decided to make this Parka which is from Junior Knits by Debbie Bliss. I am making the 4-6 years, so it should last for a while. You cannot see the pattern on the shoulders very well nor the special part in the centre for the cord to go through. It will eventually have 3 buttons in the centre where the flap is. So far I have only used 2 balls of cotton, and in the pattern it states 15 balls of Cotton DK, which I am not using, but my substitute will hopefully reduce that number by half. I am going to start on the sleeves next, quick and easy with just a bit of shaping. Well Isabelle has now caught another cold, and has had it for the last few days. I have bought a junior cough syrup so hopefully that will help, then if she is better she will be able to go back to kindergarten. At least she has not been sulky this time, she has been playing and amusing herself. She has been playing with Tess our Jack Russell, since we bought her a little fleece lined raincoat. She feels the cold at night, so this should keep her warm. They only had a blue one left but for $6.95 it was a bargain. I will try to take a picture of her in it. She looks so cute. Well I must go and look after Isabelle, and finish my housework. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

More Stash

Hi there. Gillian, mum and I headed off to the Knitters Guild at Coburg Town Hall this morning. We left nice and early and arrived just as it had opened. Thank you Gillian for driving us too, very appreciated and I promise next yarn trip I will drive so you can knit. There were not a lot of stalls at the hall. Colinette, Busy Bee, Andyle, Artisan Books, and a few others. I was a bit disappointed as I expected a few more than that. I did however get the chance to look through some knitting books that I had on my wish list, which sorry to say has now been shortened by quite a few. In the above photo is what I bought. Up at the back is 100% wool in a two tone green, on the left is some merino wool in a beautiful lime color, some Miami sock wool which I acquired for only $3.00 a ball and some other sock yarn (the multicolored skeins) to knit up some more socks. The socks are on hold though as I have a few knits to finish first and I have borrowed out the book for Gillian to peruse. In the meantime, I will try out some of the dishcloth patterns from Mason-Dixon Knitting that Gillian kindly lent to me. The colors of the wool in the above photo do not show how beautiful the yarn is. When I start a project with one of them I might have to try to photograph them better. The two tone green yarn at the back I purchased 14 balls of for an Hourglass sweater, which is also on the to do list. I think the merino wool will be a cabled scarf and the rest will be socks. Well that is all for now, but I will post about my new project I have been working on during the week. Happy knitting!

Socks, socks, socks

Good afternoon. Thanks for all the wonderful comments on my little star sweater. It makes me feel a bit better about the intarsia I think. I finally finished the other birthday scarf last night, which was lucky because the birthday girl it is going to is playing out on the trampoline with Isabelle at the moment. The other birthday scarf was greatly appreciated last night. The birthday party was okay actually, no screaming kids. It was like having kinder at McDonald's!
Well back to the sock knitting. I am still knitting on the second sock, but I have become a bit sidetracked, being tempted to start another sock,

but I will hold out. I figure if I finish this pair then I can start another pair soon. I just received the Knitting On The Road sock book by Nancy Bush which I am sure quite a few of you already have. This is the yarn I will be using for my next pair. Wildfoote Handpainted Yarn in Rhapsody, which I purchased from Meaghan who is a wonderful lady and whom I happened to chat with yesterday over the phone. Very helpful and friendly, which is what you want when buying yarn. I am waiting on the other ball to come today, silly me only ordered one ball when I needed two. The pattern pictured above is the Friday Harbour Sock pattern. Have many of you knitted these. No problems I hope. I only usually knit plain and ribbed socks (apart from Isabelle's lace ones) and they took a while to get the grip on the pattern. Well I am hoping that these will look good in this color. I will wait to start them though so I can concentrate on the pattern I think. I like quite a few other patterns in this book too. Maybe I can destash some sock yarn. By the way, Gillian and I are going to the Knitter's Guild at Coburg Town Hall on Sunday. If any other knitbloggers are going to be there at 10:00 then give me a comment and maybe we can all meet up. It would be nice to meet some people face to face. Also the new Magknits is up for June. I have not really had a good look at the patterns, but I am sure that there will be one I will want to make. Well happy knitting and I hope you all have a nice day.

Little Star Sweater

is finally finished! Yay.

Book: Adorable Knits for Tiny Tots by Zoe Mellor.

Size is 3-4 years. I shortened the length by about 8 rows as it was very long.

Yarn: Heirloom Cotton 8 ply in yellow, lime and blue. I used 1 ball of each color for the lime and yellow and about 5 balls of the blue. I still had some leftover from the lime and yellow too. I still do not like doing intarsia. I think if the photo was closer it would show up a few faulty stitches that I do not like looking at, but I am not going to fix them either since they are on the edge of the star, and if I looked really closely at the front picture on the book I see that their stitches look a little wonky too. I think it is just the cotton. The colors are pretty accurate in this picture. Overall an easy knit, apart from doing the star picture. I would even make this jumper without the star picture on it. It does look quite cute.

I also bought some sock yarn called Wildefoote Handpainted Yarn in the color Rhapsody. I have taken some photos along with the book called Knitting Socks on the Road. It has some really nice patterns in it. I will try to post those pictures tomorrow since Blogger was not co-operating in posting them today. I have nearly finished the second birthday scarf, and the first one is going to be gifted this afternoon. 3 hours to go, since Isabelle is waiting very impatiently to go. How do you explain to a 4 yr old that they have to wait that long. Well hope that you all have a nice day.
