Bags!!

Flea Market Bag designed by Grand Revival Designs

Today I turned 42 years old! Wow I cant believe it sometimes and then other times I am grateful that I have reached this age. Anyways avoiding all the getting older sayings and such I decided to sit down today to sew. I have been feeling in a bit of a slump with my knitting lately, and have been wanting to do something for myself so thought today would be the perfect opportunity while the kids were at school and Paul was at work to get busy on the sewing machine. I won the pattern for this bag a year or two ago and never used it, but today I decided to go through my fabric stash and pulled out some fabric I had from Hollabee and some linen for the lining and decided to try my best. I have to say this bag is supposed to be reversible but the lining side has one or two tiny creases along the top seam so it will be staying on this side forever! I really love this fabric and the circles are more of a rasberry red instead of the color above.  It has plenty of room as I made the larger size messenger bag instead of the smaller one.  I have already emptied my bag and filled this one up for permanent use.  The best thing is I can pop a project bag inside so my knitting can come along with me instead of having to carry 2 or 3 bags of things I want when I visit my parents place!

Two Sided Bag by Kimono House
I also finished up another kit the other day. This is a project bag from Kimono House which I think are in the city. I bought this at the quilt in I attended in July with my sister. I didnt do the loops as suggested, I just made tabs for the string to thread through and it is just the right size to fit a sock project in or a hat or scarf project. I quite like the fabric on this one seeing as though it is green!

Okay I am waiting for Paul to arrive home with my flowers and then I am going birthday shopping. I think I might have to buy myself some chinese for dinner and watch a dvd!  I hope you all have a fabulous happy weekend with lots of sunshine!!

Happy Birthday!! You are the answer to Life,The Universe and everything (until they found out the hairdressers and telephone sanitisers ruined the experiment the mice were conducting)
Love both your bags, surprisingly I like the raspberry one a lot, maybe even better than the green one!! Enjoy your evening!!

happy birthday! 42 is a great age! It's the Meaning of Life age!

I adore those bags. I'm off to google them! I had a crease in a reversible dress for my niece today - I think I'll keep the crease side inside too!

Happy Birthday Sue. I love both those bags.

It was my son's birthday yesterday and was mine two weeks ago. Celebrations were delayed, DIL was overseas etc. We went out last night to celebrate both days and we enjoyed ourselves. I hope you also enjoyed your Chinese or whatever you bought.
