The main problem was that they didn't diagnose it for ages, and by the time they worked it out she had jaundice and hep as well. Her doctor warned her to never eat raw oysters or salami or peperoni again. She got it from an oyster, but the other food has a high risk apparently.

Hope you&Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18054854689952896339noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25653539.post-39928146178713412952010-06-26T11:50:55.396+10:002010-06-26T11:50:55.396+10:00That's awful! Last September I ended up in hospital with suspected toxic shock syndrome, in the end I didn't have it but when I came back home, I suddenly fell to pieces too - just the thought I could have been very seriously ill and was lucky that I hadn't got ill... My dad came over for a few days to help out.
Lovely news about the twins, and my firstCybèlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15470546757550328725noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25653539.post-24738992487165054122010-06-15T16:37:09.235+10:002010-06-15T16:37:09.235+10:00That sounds really frightening. But I think some of the things I'm supposed to avoid quite disconcerting. Apparently rice that isn't freshly cooked is one of the worst offenders when it comes to food poisoning, and unless I actually SEE a chicken coming off the spit, BBQ chicken is also off the menu. We saw a movie called Food Inc a few weeks ago that talks about how disgusting takeaway/fastfoods really are and a mother talks in depth about losing her son after he ate a hamburger. It sounds like you are very lucky indeed.
That is very exciting news about your SIL. Happy knitting.Katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04234467488696653117noreply@blogger.com
