| Noro Yarn from Jellywares giveaway |
Yarn: Bendigo Woollen Mills Highland, (color Montrose) about 3.5 balls I think.
This was a test knit for Jacki's pattern, the beautiful cabled jacket. Now there were a number of options with this pattern, you could knit it cropped, longer and flared with garter stitch edgings, which was my favourite or the version above which Isabelle liked better! Unfortunately due to a plaster cast there will be no modelling until October! I really like the Highlands wool too although I think I should have used a larger size needle like 4.5mm instead of 4.00mm as the fabric feels a little bit stiff. I am hoping after I give it a nice soak it will feel better. Now that I have spent a few minutes today sewing on the buttons it is finally finished!
I also won the giveaway over on Jodie's blog of the beautiful Noro yarn. I have never ever used any Noro yarn thinking that it would be very scratchy but this doesnt feel too bad and I am sure after a soak it will feel much better. I have no idea what I am going to knit with it but if anyone has any ideas I would surely welcome them. The yarn does say to use 6.00mm to 7.00mm needles. Perhaps a visit to ravelry will help. I do hope you have all have a fantastic weekend wherever you are. I am hoping that some of the lovely sunny days will return as the kids are now on school holidays for 2 weeks. We had a gorgeous day on Wednesday I think it was but then it turned gray and cold the next day. Since I have an earache and have been feeling a wee bit nauseous and not quite myself (a visit to see the doctor soon to see if the gland behind my ear is swollen again) I havent been knitting as much as I would like to. I am hoping I can get in today and see them as it is getting quite painful. Last time it happened all of a sudden I couldnt even rest my head on that side and it was so painful. I have been putting up with it for nearly a week now and it does feel a lot worse than it was. I dont want an earache while the kids are on holidays either as it will ruin the rest of the holidays. Isabelle has lost another tooth too, the one that had a small hole in it and the other one is loose too. The only problem with Isabelle losing teeth is she seems to get an awful head cold and then as soon as the teeth settle in it goes away! Okay enough complaining, must get organised as the kiddos will be home very soon and I still have 2 more WIP's to sew up.
