Day 4 .....

is another FO, I think I am up to 30 now. I started knitting this cute little scarf on Friday night at my mum's house. I finished it up last night as the pattern is really easy to remember once you get going. It is called the Honeycomb Scarf which is a free download on ravelry (www.inoriz.com) and it is child sized. Isabelle tried it on and it did fit her (just) so I think it is probably better for smaller kids up to the age of 6! Isabelle is more like a 10 year old than an 8 year old and she did say I could make it longer for her and in pink! The pattern does suggest that if you use chunkier yarn it will come out larger sized. I used Panda Soft in a terracotta color which I love. Now I just need to decide who to gift it to, or I could just have a little giveaway for it .... will see how many people would like to first! Okay off to sort those UFO's out and hopefully get some kind of order to them. The kids go back to school tomorrow so I should hopefully have some peace and quiet to the day.

2009 - FO No. 27

The socks for my auntie are complete! I had to rip out the one in the last photo as I couldnt get the toe decreases right for some reason so I opted to fall back on a simple pattern I had used before. I started these on Tuesday and had finished them last night just before going to sleep. I wrapped them up this morning for Lachie to take them to my aunt's party. He travelled up with my sister so I stayed home with Paul and Isabelle. I wasnt really in the mood for a party with a slight headache the last 2 days so thought it best to just relax here. I really hope she likes them as they are quite nice to look at with all the wonderful purples changing colors and the wool isnt scratchy either. It might just encourage me to start knitting some more socks as I have about 4 different sock books now with wonderful patterns, and of course all those balls of sock yarn that I did show quite a few months ago now (could have been last year which I am sure it was). I just have to sit down some time during the week and decide on what color and what pattern (should be fun).
Thank you all too for your kind words about my back, must have worked because for the last 3 days it has been feeling great. The chiro did say that usually back pain is when the muscles in your body cant rid itself of tension so it builds up. Mine is of course caused by stress, and being a naturally anxious person does not help one little bit. With the dramas of the last few months it just caught up on me and my back was paying for it and sending pains through my chest cavity which wasnt very nice at all. I just have to learn to relax and let things go for now which will be hard but I have to try or it will return. I am so thankful that I could still knit during it which didnt cause too much pain to me otherwise I would have stopped all together until I was better, and it would have driven me just a little crazy. I have also been relaxing catching up with a few friends at the local swimming pool while Isabelle's class has their school swimming lessons. She is thoroughly enjoing it too and is exhausted by the time she gets home. She even fell asleep at 4:30 one afternoon as she was so tired. It doesnt help that on Wednesdays she has her normal lesson too.
I also dug through my UFO pile today and found a sweater I had been knitting up for Lachlan a few years ago now. I still love it but looking at it I dont think it will fit him now as he has grown so much. He is about 2 inches taller than me so I think I will finish it and give it to Paul as he loves my handknitted sweaters and it would be the perfect size for him. I dont know if Lachlan would wear a handknit sweater as he gets very hot most of the time and claims that it itches him around the neck. Maybe I will knit Lachlan up a blanket as he said the one my mum made him was way too short now and he would like it to cover his legs. Maybe I could start it as a yearly project instead, and hopefully he will stop growing for a little while. If he gets any taller he wont fit in his bed, he will have to hang his feet out over the end! Okay enough from me for tonight, it is getting rather late so I am off to bed! Goodnight all.

2009 - FO No. 26

I am still knitting here you know! Sadly this little cat should have been finished off weeks ago but I hadnt attached his ears or sewn on his face. Now he is completed, (although I did cheat and sew his eyes and nose on out of flannel fabric instead of knitting them).

Pattern: Amazing Cat by Twins

Yarn: Spotlight 8 ply basic, mustard and brown, 1 ball of each.

It didnt take very long at all to knit up all the pieces. I could have knit them in a day if I didnt do any other knitting at all, but I spent about 2 nights doing all the bits and pieces. I really do like this pattern and twins have a lot of other fantastic patterns too, like a dog, a rabbit, a frog, a little bear with clothes, so if you like this one you should pop on over and take a peek!

2009 - FO's No. 24 and 25

I can finally show you the 2 dishcloths that I made for Jodie in our dishcloth swap.
First up is the Springing Up Flowers dishcloth which I love. I used some 8 ply Heirloom cotton for this one so I do hope she loves it as much as I do.

Next up is the Christmas Dishcloth story one which is based on her mum's house. I liked the cuteness of this one and I used Lily Sugar N'Cream in a dark purple which looks nice and shows up the pattern well. Hopefully it will get the squishy factor when it is used! The designer of both of these dishcloths is Krisknits (ravelry link). She really does design some beautiful dishcloth patterns so if you get a chance go and have a look at all of them.
Other knitting continues, but I have been doing a lot of the paid work for the lady I am knitting for, so only 2 more sets to go for now and back to some other knitting. I really have to start my auntie's socks as her birthday is the start of next month and I know how slow I am at knitting socks. I cant decide what pattern yet and I just received Cookie A's new sock book so I am going to try one of those I think, so many beautiful ones to choose from.
Isabelle's birthday party was very nice and lots of fun. The 6 girls had a great time together. The sprinkles from making the cupcakes ended up from one end of the house to the other so a quick vacuum whilst they were doing their sparklers and we avoided an ant infestation in the house. Other than that really there was no mess at all, and they had fun together. The next morning they were lined up in 3's doing each others hair which was very cute. I dont think they wanted to go home so early. Isabelle even had an afternoon nap around 3 just to catch up with all the energy of the night before, and thankfully no-one had to ring their mums to go home that night, they all slept together and chatted away until about 12 and then fell asleep. I am glad it wasnt one of those awful stories that I had been warned about from some of the mums about having sleepovers so maybe we will do it again another time. Okay I am off to cook tea for Paul and Lachie and then I am going to get some knitting done!

2009 - FO No. 24

I have to say that this project has been finished for about 2 weeks now, and finally I got Isabelle to try it on and have her photo taken in it.
Pattern: Top Down Garter Stitch Yoke Vest
Size: It is supposed to fit a 1-2 years but mine turned out so nice for Isabelle, I just knit until I reached the desired length.
Yarn: Acrylic yarn (no comments thank you), Dazzle, about 2 100gm balls. I love the color of this variegated red.
It only took about 3 days to knit up so not very long at all, and I was doing other things in between. I didnt add long sleeves as Isablle didnt want them. I just added little short ones for her. You can change it to suit yourself though. The pattern is designed by naganasu so if you are on ravelry you can check it out.
I am also getting into the sewing thing lately as Isabelle needs 5 little white aprons made for her party on the weekend (birthday post tomorrow). She is having a cupcake party so it should be fun, although I am wondering how the night will go with 5 little girls sleeping over. I dont think they manage to have much sleep when they have sleepovers. Isabelle was up until 1:00 last night as her nose was blocked and then she kept having sneezing attacks, so I was up late. Might need a nana nap today I think. I am hoping she isnt getting a cold, she seems a bit better this morning and still went to school so she should be good. She has a swimming lesson tonight so hopefully it will be cleared up. No-one likes to swim with a yucky nose do they.
Other news, my great auntie Marj passed away Friday night. She was 89 and a total dag! Full of life, loved to travel and keep in touch with all of us. She loved all her nieces and nephews like they were her own grandchildren, and I have to say I used to always wish she was my nan. She only had one child when she was very young and I dont know what happened but I think he was adopted out and they only found each other again when Lachlan was very young, about 13 years ago now. She then married my great Uncle Fred and they never had any children. He died about 30 years ago now so she became a rather indendant woman living by herself until about 2 years ago now. I still remember when I was very young travelling to Mildura for our yearly holidays with my grandparents and walking around to their house, where we would have a little campfire in the backyard and they would sit around and have a few glasses of beer and tell stories. They would also play cards at my nan's until all hours in the morning. She came to stay at our house a few years ago now with her very good friend. I do remember her trying to sneak out the front door for a cigarette in the wee hours of the morning and she couldnt get the door unlocked. Paul and I were in bed listening to her as our room is right at the front and it was so funny the things she was saying to get it open. Her friend helped her out in the end. When we got up a few hours later she didnt realise we had heard her, and she had a great laugh about it. So to my auntie Marjorie I hope you have gone to a very happy place. I am sure you would have danced your way through the big gates upstairs and cheered everyone up with your arrival. You will leave a big void in our lives, but lots of cherished happy memories to fill it up with. I will be thinking of her tomorrow as we cant make it to Mildura for the funeral which is very unfortunate. I really wish I could have gone but sometimes you just cant do everything. I will try and stay busy planning Isabelle's birthday party for the weekend. You know how it is rushing around trying to get everything you want done finished in time, but I always work better under pressure. Okay see you all tomorrow for the special birthday post!!

2009 - FO No. 23

Another FO, woohoo!!
Pattern: Ice Baby from Knit Today Issue 15
Yarn: Panda Magnum Soft, dark purple
and 1/4 ball of some boucle yarn
Started: 2009 - cant remember which month
Finished: July 2009
I pulled it out from the UFO basket to finish it off for my god-daughter. It will be her xmas present this year so it is extra big. She grows like a weed that girl I tell you, but she is extra cute!

This FO is not by me, but my mum. She wanted to knit Isabelle a poncho since the cabled one she knit a long time ago now no longer fits. This one was knit from my stash yarn of 8 ply spotlight yarn. There are 2 different pinks and 2 different purples in that stripey sequence and it is all MOSS stitch (or as some people call it seed stitch). i love how it turned out but I need to buy Isabelle a skivvy for the neck part so it doesnt irritate her skin. I seem to have the same problem with wool too. The pattern is from Shepherd Moda Issue 6 Book. It has a few other nice patterns in that book too. It only took her 2 weeks to knit it up and add the fringe. Now I am off to do some more knitting. I have finished 2 sets of the dolls clothes and my mum knit 2 others, and now is on the 3rd one as the one she had the pattern didnt make sense. We will see how we go after the weekend with knitting some more. I again have bronchitis and have been told it is from being out in the cold weather. I did attend my sister's quilt in group on Saturday but ended up leaving after lunch (yes the sickies) and went to the doctors. I guess I need to keep out of the cold weather but it is a bit hard when you have newspaper deliveries to do in the rain and the cold. Maybe I need to wear a balaclava instead of a scarf and hat.
Oh and I joined a washcloth swap which is being run by Jodie. I have already knit one up but I dont think the pattern pops enough in the cotton I used so I will find another pattern to knit up. It should be a lot of fun, I love doing those things. Okay that is it until I feel better or have another FO for you all.

2009 - FO No 20, 21 and 22

I know there are 3 hats and having them as separate FO's is a bit of cheating, but I did realise that not really that many FO's have been churned out compared to last year's efforts.
These 3 hats are all different sizes and are based on one of the patterns from the Baby Beanies book by Amanda Keely. The light pink one is adult sized, the pink one is Isabelle sized and the little purple and pink one at the bottom is for my 1 year old god-daughter (she has nearly the same sized head as Isabelle). I used 8 ply Spotlight yarn with some fuzzy yarn and away I went. Using up stash is always great isnt it. Tomorrow I will hopefully have a picture of the poncho my mum just finished for Isabelle.

FO No. 18

Okay here we go, on a roll with the knitted toys lately (might get me inspired to finish off Isabelle's upside down doll and xmas bear too).
Pattern: Geoffrey Giraffe
Kit: bought at Spotlight
Started: 18 May 2009 Finished: 21 May 2009
Size 3mm needles, cotton as supplied
I liked knitting this one but I cant say I liked seaming him up as he was so fiddly with the ears and the knobs. Attaching them to his head was a lot easier though and I tried to add as many spots as I thought necessary. Isabelle woke up this morning to find him sitting on her bedside table, and when I walked into her room she was very happy at finding him! Now off to knit some more and enjoy the wonderful warm weather we are having. It reached 20 degrees today and was so nice.

FO No. 17

Have any of you seen those kits at Spotlight, the Wild Friends one they have. Well I bought a giraffe one to make for Isabelle and am just getting around to knitting it up now, but last week I found some of the same kits for half price at Kmart of all places, so snatched one up to make. This is Zoe the Zebra and she was so easy to make. The cotton they use for each animal is very soft, a bit like that Cotone cotton I used for some knits about 2 years ago now. I started Zoe on Friday night, and did some odd bits of knitting over the weekend and finished her up on Monday night. I think she looks rather cute posing in front of the mirror, and she does sit down if it isnt a slippery surface which the bookcase seemed to be. I dont know who I will gift her to as yet as we have a few friends who are all due in July or thereabouts so I am sure I can gift her to one of them as part of the present. Now back to knitting George the Giraffe!!

FO No. 16 and other stuff

Hi there everyone. I havent been doing too much knitting lately but here is one thing I have finished, another hat the same as I knit for Miss C in the last post, but this time for Isabelle. The colors are very pretty and I think she looks rather cute in it too.

Ooh and I popped on over to Michelle's site, Buttontreelane on etsy and purchased one of her cute little box bags. Isabelle said the colors remind her of choc mint icecream. I love it!!!

Oh I just found another handknit I finished this week, the eyelet cowl. It only used up one ball of Sirdar Snuggly DK for the whole cowl. This one is for my sister, she works outside all day and scarves dont help at all. She had to have dark navy to match her uniform but luckily the eyelets still show up in the photo.

And where have I been lately, well instead of knitting I have been on facebook playing Farmtown. I cant help myself and here is a pic of my little farmer on her farm. I have been talking to people all over the world on this game and it is so much fun!! Oh and I just discovered that I won a pattern from Soozs.

2009 - FO No. 15

Here is my cute little god-daughter, Miss C, modelling the hat that I knit for her last night. It is from the baby cashmerino 2 book. I love knitting these hats, although you cant see the little top part. I didnt do any stripes this time, instead choosing to knit this out of some Spotlight yarn I found the other day called Moda Vera Tranquil. I also bought some dark purple too which is gorgeous. I knit this yarn on 3.5mm instead of 4mm as it gives a firmer look which I liked more. This yarn is 100% acrylic so perfect for Miss C's mum who likes to occassionally put handknits in the washing machine by accident! This is the largest size (which also seems to fit Isabelle). Miss C liked wearing it too which is great since she usually hates hats, but kept pulling this one off and then putting it back on, even stopping for a taste test too. Much approved hat I would say. Now I am off to finish Isabelle the same hat without the rolled edge or the little top part.

2009 - FO No. 14

I have been a little busy doing my pruning today but thought I would pop into show you the nice little pattern book I discovered at my LYS. It is called Little Kisses which has some cute little patterns in it. Some of them remind me of the sublime patterns as the one on the front cover does. The Little Kisses Sirdar yarn is very pretty too but I havent purchased any. I thought I would use up some Sirdar Snuggly I have hiding in the stash instead. The patterns go up to a size 6 years but I can knit it a bit longer for Isabelle, otherwise my little goddaughter Miss C will be getting some new handknits for Christmas.

I also finished knitting up this little hat. I found it on another blog where she was knitting the pattern and I couldnt resist trying it myself. It is called the Beehive Beanie and this lady designed it. I think it is wonderful and can see a few more of these as presents in the future.
Started: End of April and finished same day.
Yarn: Green with flecks Holiday yarn from stash, 1.5 balls
Size: 12-24 months.
It looks much nicer in person but for some reason this photo came out quite dark and dull. It is actually a lovely green. Now I am off to do some more wonderful knitting!

2009 - FO No. 12

Another FO, this time for a baby boy who weighed 11 pounds! This is the size 6 months so I hope he isnt too big for it.
Pattern: Textured Hoodie from Baby Bamboo Too, Sirdar Book 346
Yarn: Cleckheaton Country 8 ply, silver blue with flecks, about 5 balls
Started: 3rd April Finished: 13th April
Buttons: Whales (from stash) navy colo
I love a lot of patterns from this book, and you dont have to use bamboo yarn either, you can use any other DK yarns that knit to gauge. I am hoping to finish Isabelle's cable and bobble jacket which is knitting up really nicely. I only have one sleeve left to finish and the right front and collar, so hopefully it will be finished soon.

2009 - FO No 11

I have finished yet another FO which I started in January 09. This is the Little Pixie Coat from the Sublime book 606. I knit this one in a size 1-2 years and added some little apple buttons from my stash. The hood did take a long time to knit up but the second one went much faster once I sat down and concentrated. The yarn I used for this one is the Heirloom Whisper. I like this yarn and I think I used about 5 or 6 balls. I might gift this one for my god-daughter for Christmas but I may change my mind by then. I am sure that the hood would have looked better had I a model to pop it onto.
Now the other knitting I have started for Isabelle is going great but I may have to make it a bit longer as it wont last long otherwise. I totally forgot about it and then after knitting the first front I realised so I may have to rip it back. Perhaps I will measure her tonight and see how it will fit her in the length. Okay that is it for now, happy crafting!!

2009 - FO's No. 9 and 10

Thank you all so much for your wonderful lovely comments about Isabelle's cardigan. I still havent gotten a photo as yet and it is a bit too warm to wear it at the moment. I have been very busy making phone calls during the day trying to get legal things organised, and to sort out selling the house so I apologise if I havent replied to your comments, but time is precious at the moment. When I do have a few moments spare it is usually at night time and I cant be bothered sitting on the computer at all as I am tired out.
Anyway, after all that I finished up the snowball scarves that I was talking about. The purple one is for Isabelle and as luck would have it, turned out the longest. The middle one is mine and turned out the shortest so I will need to gift this to someone else. The green one is for my sister and turned out so nicely. I am giving it to her tonight. The snowball yarn was so easy to knit with once I figured out how to knit with it from their video. It is called Snowball yarn or is it Snowflake, one of those, and it is from Lincraft. A ball costs $4.99 and makes up one scarf, though I suggest if you are using the tri-colored one to knit it on larger needles and possibly buy 2 balls for a longer length. I used 4.5mm for the purple and green ones, but the label does suggest 4mm.

I also finished up my squares, although I didnt knit 6, only 5. I am about to go to the post office to send them after I pick the kids up from school. This weekend will be spent tidying up a few things around here and cleaning the backyard fence as it is colorbond and Jake the kelpie loves to use it to balance his balls when he plays, so it is now covered in baked on mud. Cream isnt a great color for the backyard unfortunately but we do have to tidy up everything out there so it is presentable. My friend's dad is getting some packing boxes for me next week so I can store some things at my sister's and make the place look a bit bigger in some places, namely the kids rooms and my storage of yarn. Luckily those are mostly already packed in plastic containers so it wont be too bad. Hope you all have a fantastic wonderful weekend.

2009 - FO No. 5

After seeing Jodie's amazing Mary Jane slippers for her daughter last week, I realised that I had the same pattern book (Cleckheaton Handknits to Wrap and Adorn) Book 956 and would knit some up for Isabelle. These were so quick and easy to make taking just one night to knit up. I used some Dazzle acrylic yarn since I thought the wear and tear on these would be quite a bit. Isabelle has worn them twice already and loves them. I even crocheted the straps and edging and dont think I did too bad for a beginner! Perhaps there is hope for me yet to master that craft.
I have to say thank you too for all your concerns as to our family's safety in the bushfire. We are quite safe where we live although we have had a lot of smoke come our way this afternoon which makes it seem all the more worrying for those actually in the fire affected sites. I have to say that I am so very proud of the Australian spirit and the way everyone has got together and donated so many goods and cash, even worldwide too which I am sure everyone appreciates. It wont bring back the lost loved ones of our communities, but it will help ease the burdens a little bit for now and make people more comfortable. I do hope that in a few months time when the shock actually settles in for many people that there is still ongoing support and help. Lachlan's school had a sausage sizzle fundraiser yesterday and today they took in tinned goods and clothes to be taken over to the help centre. Tomorrow I am donating some clothes and bed linen to the Salvos which I hope will help out. So far I have knitted nearly 2 squares, I know not many for me but Isabelle has had a hard time adjusting to school this week for some reason. It started off on Monday with her crying that she had a tummy ache. I took her to the doctors after another day at home and he said it was stress, but didnt know the cause. I dont either to tell you the truth. Yesterday I had to stay with her in the classroom for nearly 3 hours, and when it came time for me to leave she just grabbed onto me and started screaming. The teachers had to hold her back whilst I left nearly in tears and feeling quite sick. She has never ever behaved like that before and now wont let me out of her site. I couldnt even go to the doctor's office last night without her screaming the house down. I felt so sorry for Paul who explained that he needed a break for a bit after dealing with her tears for an hour. I dont know how he would have coped dealing with it for 3 hours yesterday. Today was a bit better until the class bell went and I walked her into class. She wanted me to stay again but I had to be strong and say I was going. She has such sweet little girls in her class too, one of them rubbing her back and telling her she would look after her. I do hope that she gets through this clingy stage with me and makes lots of friends in her class as last year there were older girls who werent very nice in her class. It would be lovely for her (and me too) if she could settle. If anyone out there has any advice for dealing with things like this I would love to hear it. My doctor did say that sometimes these things happen at any grade but I thought she would be okay now since she is in Grade 2. Okay that is it for now. I am off to go and collect her from school and hopefully she will be happy like yesterday afternoon when I picked her up.

Every Little Bit Helps

Over on ravelry they are knitting 12 inch squares (30 cms) to be made into blankets for some of the bushfire victims. They are asking for machine washable wool or synthetic yarns to be used. They are also asking for some patchwork squares to be made up (and possibly fabric donated) to make the squares too so if you have any time to knit up some squares, or fabric available it would be lovely if you could help out. I have asked my mum to contribute some squares and I will be asking my friend tomorrow to knit some up too if she has time. I havent heard where to send them to as yet but I will let you know how to contact the lady for a mailing address if you would like to help.
Katt also let me know that if you need to shop for groceries and can hold off until Friday then Coles are donating all their proceeds for the day towards the bushfire appeal.

I Did Promise

a post or two ago that I would start updating my projects, so here goes for the first one.
Geno from Young Rowan. This is for Isabelle in the size 9-10 years which should have a bit of growing room but hopefully not be too big. I am knitting it in the Bendigo 4 ply in the same chocolate brown in the photo. I finished up the back last night and now I am starting the fronts which have the pattern on them. It should make for interesting knitting, although knitting on 3mm needles does make my elbows ache a little after a while.

Next up is the Child's First Sock and I have to say that I love the pattern on these. I am knitting these for Isabelle too as she has been asking for socks for quite a while and I have to say that I havent knit her any apart from the lace ones in kindergarten (3 years ago now) so I thought I would try these out. I am knitting these out of Baby Shepherd 4 ply wool. It is quite nice and soft and they have such lovely bright colors too. It is hard to find nice solid sock yarn so this is a perfect substitute. I am just past the heel on the first one now so perhaps today they might get some more knit on them. I havent been knitting a lot this past week as it has been extremely hot (in the 40's) everyday. Mum and Dad popped over to my sister's on Thursday and her garden thermometer said 51 degrees. No wonder I felt like I was melting away. I think the worst part was having the evaporative cooling on every single day and night, although it was quite frustrating when the power went out. I am so glad the kids didnt go back to school last week. They do return tomorrow so I am going to be doing my ironing to reduce the pile somewhat. Not my favourite chore but I thought I would do it whilst watching the tv shows whilst the kids arent here.
I just wanted to say to you all how pleased I was that you all loved Magoo Monkey. I think that is the most comments I have ever received on this blog so I am very happy to have received every one of them. We love comments here you know and I know that some people dont like to leave comments on blogs. I think it is nice to leave a kind word as it does let people know that you like what they make and let them know you are reading what they post too.
I will return later next week after the kids have settled in a bit with some new knitting books (yes I cant help myself) I bought the other week.

2009 - FO No. 4

This hat is my auntie's birthday present which is in September. I know it is early but I loved this hat when I saw it on Katt's blog. She so kindly wrote out the pattern for me and I knit it up in 2 days. As soon as Isabelle saw it finished she rushed off with it to the bathroom and came out declaring that she was "an artist". It was so funny when you saw how she was rolling her eyes and prancing around the kitchen.

Started: 22nd January 2009
Finished: 23rd January 2009
Yarn: Vintage Hues, 1.5 balls

The only changes I made to the pattern was I knit the ribbing for 5 cms instead of stocking stitch. I love the way the colors on the Vintage Hues knits up, so here is a pic of the beautiful aqua at the top. Thank you Katt for designing such a lovely hat pattern!

2009 - FO No. 2

Pattern: Ribby Wristwarmers from the Sublime Book 613
Yarn: Panda Magnum Soft 8 ply
Started: 6th January Finished: 7th January 2009
I knit these up for Isabelle as she always tends to get colder than the rest of the family, having less body fat also helps with that. She actually ended up wearing these to bed last night after I finished them, and gladly popped them back on today for a photo. These gloves should do nicely for the colder weather during school too and using this yarn they can be thrown into the machine to be washed. They dont take long at all to knit up which is great so I can see perhaps another pair being knit up just in case anything happens to these ones.
We have also been busy this week, me with a funny sore neck thing which seems to have just about gone today which is great. I wasnt feeling so good during the week and even made an appointment last night to see the doctor today, but then cancelled this morning after feeling much better. Isabelle has been playing everyday with my neighbour's granddaughter and they have been having so much fun. It is nice to hear them giggling away, although I am not too sure that Lachie appreciated it.
I also finished up the second book to Friday Night Knitting Club and loved it just as much as the first one. I am now going to begin reading All Together Now by Monica McInerney. I read her book Those Faraday Girls last year and absolutely loved it so this is the second novel I am reading. I think I may just start a collection of her novels soon.
I have also been knitting some more on a blanket that I started last year and never finished. Just an acrylic blanket in baby colors (girly ones) so I thought perhaps my friend's granddaughter could use it. I am just doing a few rows a day and will try and photograph it when it is done.
Thank you all too for your lovely comments on the socks. It is my sister's 35th birthday today so I do hope she likes them. Now all I need to do is find a decent man for her to settle down with and we'll both be happy.
