Stitching Away!

I have been sewing and knitting, trying to catch up with a few UFO's too, as last week I had gastro again. Third time in 3 weeks which is becoming a pain in the butt. I am sick of being sick so now I am hoping that the worse is over and I wont get it back again. Now onto the sewing - up above is a mini quilt that I stitched together this afternoon. I had 20 6" squares which I had purchased on a bus trip, ooh about 2 yrs ago now, and I decided to use them up and create a bit of room in the fabric stash too. I found some bird fabric for the back of the quilt which I turned over on the edges and stitched down. I am by no means great at making these, but it is okay for Isabelle to use for her dolls or herself in the cooler nights. I love the colors in this quilt, so I am hoping she will like it too. I am going to give it to her after school this afternoon. Maybe later on I will actually "quilt it" when I have some more time to do so.
Also I started a new baby knit (you should all know by now how much I love knitting them), and this one is called Jill from Classic Babies. It has some really gorgeous patterns in it. I pulled some yarn out of my stash (yay twice in one week), and knit the back up last night. Now seeing as though this is going to knit up quite quickly, fingers crossed, I might have it finished by the end of next week. This color is like a burnt red/orange which I am loving at the moment. I am going to make the flower baskets out of some nice yellow, but progress shots will be updated throughout the week. I also finished knitting the pieces for Isabelle's cardigan, so hopefully tomorrow I can get a photo.
It is Anzac Day tomorrow, so it is a public holiday. For all of us who have had people die in the war, may you never forget what they gave their lives up for. My grandfather's two brothers died in the war, and my uncle served in the Vietnam war, and is sadly still suffering from it today. I think the soldiers are so very brave but I do hope that my son never has to fight in one. I hear what my uncle has gone through in the past few years and I do wish that he never had gone to fight in the war, but you cannot rewind to the past can you. May you all have a wonderful Anzac Day fellow aussie bloggers, and everyone else have a beautiful day too!

The mini quilt is so pretty, and it's such a good idea for using up the squares. I have some squares like this that are too small for anything much and I have been wondering what to do with them. Of course now I need to get more squares :)
Hope you're feeling all better.

Sorry to hear you have not been well. Are you sure it's gastro? Have you been to the doctor?

Your quilt looks lovely and that is going to be a gorgeous little jumper.

My grandfather served in WW2 - he was a cook.

That quilt is great! Wanna try that once!
I have pretty young friend with gastro problems - so somehow, not directly I know what you are going through! Health really is the greatest gift!
