How Much Sock Yarn?

Well I didnt think I had that much sock yarn tucked away, but after seeing a few bloggers display theirs I thought I would count up how much I had in storage. 50 pairs of socks could be knit from all this yarn, plus counting the 3 pairs in progress that I havent finished knitting yet. I guess I dont need to buy any for quite some time do I. Next year could be the year of socks or I could knit a few for family for Christmas presents, although knowing how slow I knit socks perhaps next Christmas would be better.

There are some very nice colours in that stash!
I have one ball of sock yarn..not even enough for a whole pair...(unless they are ankle socks) I haven't attempted to knit any yet, I leave it to my mom, she sooo much better at it!

That is truly an astonishing stash of sock yarn! I'm on dial-up so the picture slowly revealed the entire stash and I was laughing by the time it finally loaded.

That's a lot of sock yarn there - just a thought but maybe you could use it doubled and knit hats or fingerless mitts - that would give you some variety of projects.

But, you do knit faster than anyone I know - so this is probably nothing to you.

Come on Sue! there must be some more under the bed.
Seriously, a lovely stash and I'm so jealous.
Not much news from me for a while cos I'm moving and looking for a job but I'll keep in touch.
Cheers Gillian

Wow, that is a great stash of sock yarn.
You could always double up some of the yarns and knit 'fetching' finger less mittens.

Whoa! That is some serious sock yarn! At least you know you have lots of options when you want to knit a pair. :)

Well, this comment isn't about sock yarn, but I scrolled down thru some of your older posts and LOVE the kidswear you've made! I tend to go with free patterns, but I may have to look up some of the ones you've used. :) Great work. Thanks for linking to my blog, too (wee sheep). Nice to know there's readers!

That's a lovely stash. I won't dare lay out mine as I may have a heart attack when I see them all together. Happy sock knitting!

Beautiful stash! Mmm don't think I'll share mine - there is someone around here who doesn't need to know about it all.

Ha! 50 pairs - I love it! I don't have quite so much, but I have an awful lot for someone who doesn't knit socks. But all those pretty colors...how can we not be tempted?

Oh my gosh, I can't imagine having so much yarn! I sometimes just like to buy yarn when I know exactly what I want to knit with it. It's how I'm trying to do things from now on as I find when I buy stuff and stash it I never come up with a project and it just sits there for years!!!

Now I don't feel so bad about my pile but yours is much more organized ;)
There's never enough though...
