Happy Birthday Sis!

It was my sister's birthday today!  Here she is modelling her new jacket that I just finished for her.  What a perfect fit even though it isnt cold enough to wear it as yet.  I havent quite finished her socks but I will tonight, only a toe to go!  She will receive them when she gets back from her holiday to Noosa for the week, which is a pressie from her new man so I am sure she will have a fantastic time up there!  Happy Birthday sis!

Oh and I popped up a picture of all the rain we had on the 1st of January.  It was so heavy even the verandah had to be cleared of shoes so they wouldnt get soaked.  Our plants are growing so well now so Im hoping with this hot weekend that we will get some more rain during the week.  I need to buy another drought tolerant tree though as our beautiful maple tree died during the really hot week we had a few weeks back.  The new crabapple is growing well though so I might get another to put in the maple tree spot!  All the new plants have grown really well with the weekly rainshowers we have been having.

Knitting plans are underway with my lovely friend Katt!  She suggested that we try and knit 12 pairs of socks this year and since I have nearly finished my sister's pair and started them in 2010 they are going to be my first ones.  Next up might be the mustard color or the blue ones.  I shall let you know when I decide.  Oh and I was so happy that you liked my new look too, it is quite refreshing to see it!

Sue, the new page is stunning. Your sister looks lovely and happy in her new jacket. You're right! she won't need it in Noosa.
The garden is lovely and green.I hope you get the rain to keep it going. We are still snow-bound here but I did get into town to the shops on the bus yesterday (with everyone else!) and there's more to come.
Cheers Gillian

ooo wish I had a sister like you. Very cute cardi.
Wasn't the rain fabulous (except for the weeds) but I'd rather be tackling them than watching things die.

OhMyGosh! I LOVE your new look -- those houses are adorable! The sweater is very pretty too -- I can't believe how much knitting you get done. I like your 12 socks plan - although, for me, 3 or 6 would be more like it!
