Williamstown!

Yesterday I took the kids and my mum to Williamstown for the day.  First stop was Stitchery Blue, the knitting shop full of beautiful things.  I purchased 2 pattern books and my mum found some harmony dpns for knitting socks.  She had been admiring my full set and I couldnt find any online so we were very lucky!

Next stop was down to Nelson Place for lunch.  We went to the Fish and Chippery to buy some yummy flake and chips and went and sat in the park.  This was our view above where you can see the city past the ships.  It was a really beautiful day weather wise and the scenery was very nice.  Then we popped over to the icecreamery shop where we had an icecream.  We definately did not need dinner last night.

We then drove down to the beach in Williamstown.  The kids went and had a swim and an exploration of all the rocks too.  We saw so many jelly fish washed up on the beach.  This is one of them and they were the biggest I have ever seen.  I couldnt believe there were so many along the sand.  The kids had fun trying to break them open with sticks (they are all dead) but didnt manage it.  Some little kids were also trying to do the same thing.

I think Isabelle was waterlogged after staying at the beach so long.  She fell asleep quite easily last night.  I cant believe how quickly the day went by but it was so nice to be able to hop in the car and just do something nice for the day.  I really like Williamstown as I love looking at all the gorgeous weatherboard houses around the town and the scenery is always nice too.  I think that 2010 will have to be the year of day trips!
Hope your all enjoying Australia Day too!  We are having our bbq for dinner tonight which shall be perfect with this wonderful weather.

We've just spent a warm, humid, sometimes rainy, often windy, week living in a cabin 50metres from the beach. How often did we swim? Not at all! The easterly winds brought the blue bottles in every day and I have this thing about pain!!

The lap pools at either end of the beach had blue bottles in them! Even the toddlers' wading pool had a giant sized stinger it it on Wednesday! Blah!!

Glad the jelly fish were all dead because our visitors weren't!
