2010 - FO 5

Pattern:  Whirligig Shrug by Stephanie Japel (Interweave Knits Weekend issue 2009)
Size:  12 - 18 months
Yarn:  Harmony (light yellow) nearly 2 balls I think (hard to judge from the 200gm ball)
Started:  February, took about 3 days to knit up

I loved knitting this pattern and luckily it was a really easy, fast and pretty knit to add to my baby basket of gifts.  The yellow seems a little washed out in the photo but it is a bit brighter in real life.  I did read on Stephanie's blog that she is writing up this pattern in larger sizes so that will be fantastic!
I have also nearly finished another little knit.  It isnt finished as yet but nearly.  I will try and knit the last bit tonight so I can take some photos before the weekend.  I didnt get too much knitting done last week as I was in bed for a few days with the worst headcold which the kids kindly gave to me (twice as bad as theirs if Im honest) which took me 6 days to recover from so there wasnt too much knitting or any gym at all.  I ventured off to the gym today fearing the worst and thinking I would be in pain but no, I felt great like I had heaps of energy.  Now if only I could stop my heel from hurting I would be feeling fantastic.  It has been playing up for quite a few weeks now.  If I walk non-stop for an hour or two then it becomes very painful and I can hardly put any pressure on it but I am thinking that if I rest it and take it a bit easier instead of walking at a gallop I might actually get better and it will heal itself.  I am hoping that is the plan or otherwise I will be visiting the podiatrist!

Okay must go hang out another load of washing.  I need to get Isabelle's swimming gear organised for tomorrow.  She made it into the swimming carnival and had the best time for the backstroke so I am hoping she does really well.  She is a lot younger than most of the other girls as it is really for 9-11 year olds but I am sure she will be fine.  I just need to pack quite a bit of food as swimming seems to make children so very hungry.  Oh and I nearly forgot that it is Paul's birthday tomorrow.  Hopefully we are going out for dinner to celebrate but it will depend on how he feels after work... okay must get busy.

That looks tempting to knit, even for me. I've finished one pair of socks and have started another so I'm only one month behind!!!
Good luck in the swimming, Isabelle.
Cheers Gillian

I love that little yellow cardi so much! I might have to print out a pic of it and see if our local knitting guru could write a pattern for it to fit me. Maybe in grey. I think all the new Mum's around you are thrilled they have a brilliant knitting friend like you.

That's some basket you must have there! How many items are in it at any one time?
