Where Have I Been ...

this last week has been a very tiring sore one for me.  After a mis-diagnosis at the doctor's last Wednesday morning thinking that I had gastro with no other symptoms other than a swollen tummy I was sent home to take buscopan forte.  It did nothing at all and I actually got worse as the night wore on.  Then around 8:30 I had a horrible pain develop all over my stomach and sweating, which actually reminded me of when I was in labour with Lachlan.  You know those contractions that dont ever end and die down, it just keeps going.  I got to the stage that I couldnt sit down properly or walk straight (I think I actually resembled the Hunch Back Of Notre Dame)!  Paul drove me to the doctors with Isabelle looking very worried.  I had to wait for about 1 hour in reception crying my eyes out in pain and wishing the doctor would hurry up.  By the time I got to see him I couldnt even get up on the table to be examined, everything was so painful.  I really did feel like I was in labour but I wasnt pregnant and I was actually getting scared too.  The doctor took my temp which was 38, then advised after a urine test that I actually had a very bad case or Urinary Tract Infection.  Oh my god, I had never ever had one before in my entire life.  He gave me strong antibiotics and painkillers and Paul took me home.  I crawled into bed and stayed there for a few days.  I didnt actually eat for 6 days as I was too scared it would come back and after all the pain I actually lost my appetite.  I finally went to the toilet after the 6th day thank goodness and now I seem to be back on the mend.  I have not done any knitting, apart from a little bit yesterday but I think my body forgot how to do it because now my shoulder is feeling like it is out of place so that leaves the ironing and knitting off the list until it calms down some more.  I have been using a hot pack to help so I am hoping that experience never comes to visit me again in the future.  Okay that is my whinge for the week but I just had to write it down for me.  You will now know why I have been visiting blogs and not commenting as I have only been on the computer a bit at a time the past 2 days so I do hope to catch up with you all very soon.

Sue

Oh Sue! That sounds really awful! I'm glad you're on the mend, but I really hope you get properly back to normal before too long. Hopefully as you recover some strength your body will remember what it's temporarily forgotten - maybe it's just trying to remind you to take things slowly and not do too much hard work like ironing (unless you enjoy ironing, of course!). Get well soon xx.

Sue, that sounds really terrible. My elderly mum ended up in hospital twice , delirious with a similar complaint. Take it easy and rest up and drink lots to flush germs out.

Yes, your comment on the Lush yarn wa pot on. I have twenty rows left to finish a shawl and it's been great knitting.

Take care.

sounds dreadful, may it never come back! Cranberry juice is what they used to give all the oldies in the nursing home I used to work in, as a preventer against UTI's

Hugs - I know what they are like - have not had one for a few years. Take it easy and keep Ural's in the cupboard. Hope that your shoulder improves and you can knit again soon.

Urinary tract infections are shockers, when they get that back sometimes they get misdiagnosed as psychosis! can you beleive, yeah you probably can. ...My point is they are so powerful they can really change you normality.....

Please get better, I am missing you so!
