2010 - FO No 16

Pattern:  Alexis from Let's Knit Issue 30 May 2010
Size:  3-4 years
Yarn:  Spotlight 8 ply pure wool, between 3-4 balls of dark purple and 2 of light purple.
Started:  Last Friday and finished last night so 1 week!!

I have knit this up for my god-daughter as she loves to be outside all the time to play and I thought this would be perfect to wear over a long sleeved t-shirt to add some extra warmth for her chest so she doesnt get sick again.  She has had a few nasty viruses lately, care of the germs from childcare.  I am hoping that  her head will fit through the neckband as it does stretch, but you know how some littlies have extra round heads that dont want to fit through neck openings on handknits.  Keep your fingers crossed I dont have to unpick it and reknit it.

It is school holidays here and the last week has gone by really fast.  I took Isabelle to her first dental visit and she is going back at the end of the month to have them cleaned.  Then she went and had her first x-ray to see how many new teeth are growing through which is quite a few.  I expect that tooth fairy will be visiting again over the next 12 months quite a bit!  Isabelle had a sleep over with a friend (tell me not to do that again too soon please, it is exhausting).  Isabelle must get too excited having a sleep over because by the end of the night she turns into a little devil which is so tiring for me and for her I am sure.  Next friend stays for the day and goes home before dinner time I think.

I have also been having a clean up, sorting through some things I have had for years and some things I havent.  It feels good to do this every now and then and it does make you realise how much stuff you have.  The last time I did that was in March 2009 (the very stressful time) and I still didnt finish it off and clear things away properly.  I am hoping that next week is a bit calmer.

Tomorrow the kids and I are off to work with Paul in Richmond.  It should be nice to go into town again.  I hardly ever go in there anymore as it is always so busy and I just dont cope anymore with the hustle and bustle.  Once upon a time I used to thrive on it when I worked in Melbourne but that was 20 years ago now.  Gee makes me feel old! Funny how you change as a person and what you get used to isnt it.  Well that's it for now, hope you are all having a nice day!

Gorgeous knitting as usual.
Hope you enjoy Richmond. Will you be able to get to the book shops in Gertrude street in Fitzroy?
Cheers Gillian
