Day 7

Today is bright and sunny.  We had a super big storm last night which was accompanied by lots of lightning and thunder.  Isabelle and I got stuck at my friend's house until it stopped long enough for us to jump in the car and drive home.  The lightning brightened up the whole sky and our garden got a very good watering.  Upon hanging out the washing today I spotted our 3rd cauliflower from the garden.  This is the biggest one by far and will be cooked up for dinner tonight.
Isabelle also had her plaster cast cut off today.  Nobody ever explains properly how sore your arm is after it is removed and poor Isabelle was in tears when she has to move it around as it was so stiff and sore.  The doctor said she may need some physio but hopefully in a day or two it will be feeling much better and less stiff.

Poor Isabelle, I hope her arm is less sore now. We had rain, but no storm last night. How exciting to be eating your own home grown cauli!!

poor girl - it does take a while to heal - there would have been muscle wastage etc...but the good thing is that kids heal pretty quick!
we haven't had rain for a while now - the garden is missing it already :(

That storm was a beauty, wasn't it? Luckily, I was tucked up in my house so I didn't have to worry about the right time to dash out to the car!

Poor Isabelle, I hope her arm is becoming less stiff and sore.

Hey Sue, we got caught in that huge downpour too, walking home from the supermarket. Boy did we get soaked. Glad to hear the plaster is off, hope her arm is back in action asap xo

Everything from the garden always tastes so much fresher :) Ouch to poor Isabelle - I hope that the pain passes quickly and movement is restored easily.

Oh no! Poor Isabelle. I had no idea that it would hurt so much afterwards. Thanks to you I'll be prepared when it happens to Jazzy. i hope she feels so much better soon.

Awww, poor Isabelle -- I hope she's feeling better soon. I can't believe you have a big cauliflower already -- it seems like it would be too early in the season!

I hope Isabelle's arm is feeling better really soon! It's no fun thinking that you'll finally be able to use a limb again only to discover that it really really hurts.
