2010 - No. 38

Another project off the needles.  This jumper is for my nephew Benjamin who turned 6 in October!  I knit a size 5 - 6 as he isnt a big boy so it should hopefully fit him next winter or on a cold night during Spring.

Pattern:  Design G Sweater from farmyard girls and tractor boys Book 356
Yarn:  Moda Vera Tiziana, blue about 3 balls
Needles:  4mm and 5mm (6mm for the neckband)

The only problem I had with this sweater was the neckband.  I had to use larger needles for the neckband as I was casting off too tight and there was no possible way it would have fit over his head so I went up to a size 6mm last night and it is now quite stretchy which I was happy about after knitting this neckband 3 times!!  I do hope he likes it and I bought him a set of Flat Stanley storybooks too which he should hopefully enjoy.

Also on the needles are some garter stitch cardigans in a 6 month size which I hope to pop into my SIL babies pressies.  I havent posted it off yet as I want to include a few more things in the parcel.  I am knitting these garter stitch cardies in Cleckheaton Country Naturals which always knits up nicely.  I am also waiting on the second clue for Tikki's KAL which should keep me busy over the weekend.

Isabelle is marching in the Djerriwarrh Festival tomorrow with her dancing group so I am hoping the weather is as beautiful as today.  Okay that is it for now, see you later.

One day I would love to sit and watch you knit Sue. The amount you make, you must be so fast.
The jumper is gorgeous.
Have a fabulous weekend and I hope the festival is fun.

Yes=s, you are a fast knitter! It's a lovely jumper, I like the texture of the pattern. Neckbands can be tricky. I remember as a child we had a shoulder opening with buttons, or a placket in the back.

WoW. It will look stunning on Benjamin. I don't know where you find the time to knit so much.

Hopefully will see you at the Festival tomorrow.
