Happy Birthday Isabelle!

Isabelle turns 6 today. She is my sweet, loving, beautiful, shy, smart, gorgeous girl. She makes me laugh and sometimes makes me yell too, but I absolutely love her to bits, if you didnt already know. I cannot believe that 6 years has already flown by. She made a quick entry into the world, arriving in 2 hours time. She was very alert and has stayed that way too. She wants to learn everything and try most things, although in front of strangers she is quite shy. She is wearing her new skirt that I bought from Pumpkin Patch for her. She loves to wear dresses and is very girly, although she can rough it with the boys just as well. Here she is dressed up for her party that she had at McDonald's on Friday night.
Here she is with her cousin L, her best friend A from kindergarten and E who is in her class, and also went to the kindergarten too. She hadnt seen A since her birthday party in March, and they got along so well and played like they had never missed each other. Isabelle adores her big cousin and they play really well together too. She received lots of lovely presents from her friends. We bought her a big furby for her birthday, and it talks, plays games, and dances too. Isabelle wanted to take it to school, but I told her no as it would probably get broken. I am sure she will be playing with it when she gets home tonight. I think it chats away as much as she does on a normal day so maybe my ears will get a little rest for a few days.I took this photo whilst the hostess was trying to take a picture. The children kept running off instead of staying to get their photo taken. Too excited and wanted to play instead. I managed to get a picture of half of them. They all had a great time. This is Isabelle's last class party for quite a few years now. We are having a nice family get together tonight, with Paul's mum, my parents and my sister too. I am cooking a roast chicken and beef, and nice roasted vegetables. After that we will have birthday cake for dessert. I always hope that my children have a wonderful life, and a few special friends too. So far, so good. Happy birthday my beautiful girl!

Happy Birthday Lachlan

My how fast time flies by. Today, 13 years ago, I had my son Lachlan, at 12:17pm to be precise. I was 25 years of age, and when I saw his big blue eyes staring up at me I fell instantly in love. He was born 7 pounds 9 ounces, and he was such a good baby. He would eat, sleep, and was never really a crying baby. He had a head full of curls when his hair decided to grow (I will have to scan a picture to show you just how gorgeous it was), and now he is a teenager. I am a mum to a teenager. How did that happen so fast. He is a boy that loves to sit on the computer like his mother, read books, play Game Boy games, and go to the movies. He loves swimming (he would end up a prune if I let him). He likes to cook too, and he loves camping. Here is Lachlan at Mallacoota in February 2005, with the fish that he caught. He did catch a lot of other fish too, but there is no pictures of those. Lachlan caught his first fish when he was 5 years old when we camped at Rocklands with Paul's mum and dad and aunt and uncle. I remember he kept that fish in a bucket for hours, thinking that he could take it home like that. Paul's uncle then informed him that the fish needed to be cut up and filleted for dinner. Lachlan was not impressed after that, and was quite upset about it. Thankfully the experience did not scar him in any way. At Mallacoota Lachlan watched as his fish were filleted and he ate them for dinner without hesitation. I really do hope that Lachlan learns a lot through his teenage years, and grows into a wonderful adult. Happy Birthday Lachlan and I hope you have a wonderful day today. We are taking him out to dinner and then to the movies, so it should be a lovely afternoon!
