2011 - FO NO. 17

Girl's Red Cardi designed by Tikki
This cardigan was another test knit for Tikki.  I absolutely loved knitting this pattern for Isabelle.  I knit mine in Zara yarn, 9 balls to be exact which was great as I have had this yarn in my stash for quite a few years.  I now have 2 balls leftover to knit something lovely.  I have to say this is one of my favourite patterns with the simple lace front borders and the gatherings in the sleeves and waist area, very sweet and pretty.  I do hope that she releases this pattern soon so that you can all enjoy it and knit it for your little girls in your lives.  Thank you too for all the wonderful comments on the last test knit I did - I havent really had much time to respond to you all but I do hope to by the end of the weekend!

2011 - FO No 16

Pattern:  School Cardi by Tikki
Yarn:  Bendigo Woollen Mills Classic 2 x 200gm balls, color - Sweetpea
Size:  12 years
Needle size:  4mm

This pattern was so lovely when I saw it on Tikki's blog that I immediately put my hand up for test knitting it so that Isabelle would have a lovely cardigan to wear.  I had originally knit the sleeves a bit shorter than called for in the pattern but then decided once Isabelle had worn it to do the correct length.  I love how this turned out and the wool softened up nicely after it was soaked for a bit.  I am still not a huge fan of the crepey look of the wool though and I think I would use another yarn next time.

Isabelle couldnt see properly in the last photo as the sun is out today and shining brightly so she was squinting a bit.  I will have another FO during the week as I had to get Isabelle to model both or otherwise she wouldnt have done it later on, so the next one has an end or two hanging out but I will weave them in today.  I hope your all enjoying your weekend!
