Blue Friday

Finally the socks are finished.
Pattern: Jigsaw Heirloom pattern. Broken rib at the top and stockinette stitch at the bottom.
Size: Ladies.
I used just over half a ball of Opal Magic. Do not remember what color it was, but I love the different blues in it. I could have knitted them quite a bit longer for my legs I think. Excuse the bright white legs, it is winter and I never get a suntan, just red and back to white. I am so glad these are finished. I decided yesterday to get them out of the way so I can start on my next pair.

I also finished my sister's hat yesterday, so that wasn't bad for 2 days. I used a ball and half of Patons Twister which I purchased last year from Big W. I don't know if they make it any more, but it is just a mix of blues together. It is a bit hard to see the cable pattern in it, but if you look closely you might be able to.
Pattern: Jenny Hat from Jo Sharp's Gathering book.
Size: 1 size fits all I assume.
Modifications: I kept using the 3.5mm needles instead of changing to 4mm needles as my sister seems to have a small shaped head so I needed it to be a bit tighter.
Isabelle reluctantly modelled the hat for me. Excuse the bags under her eyes, since she has not been sleeping enough due to her cold.

And here is Tess in her little raincoat. It is fleece underneath so it keeps her nice and warm and dry. I have not taken it off her since she got it, and she loves it. Well that's all for now, hope you all have a good weekend.

Your socks look great! I really want to be able to make socks like that. Cute hat! I can see the cables! Isabelle is a cutie, even with bags under her eyes!!

Lovely to see yo and Isabelle yesterday. I'm still malingering with my virus but have to make an effort today to get stuff ready for the market at St. Anne's Winery on Monday. Hope you dont mind the plug. Someone local might read it.
Cheers Gillian
