2008 - FO No. 10

Pattern: Kite from The Rowan Story Book of Little Knits
Size: 7-8 years
Yarn: Cupcake yarn from Spotlight, 6.5 balls
Needles: 4.5mm
Started: 21 February 2008, Finished: 28 February 2008

I really loved knitting this for Isabelle but I did forget my golden rule, add 10 extra rows to the body of the sweater as Isabelle has a long torso. The sleeves have a bit of extra length to them, and I did knit about 2 cms shorter than stated. I am not going to rip it back though to add the extra rows to the body so I am hoping that she wont grow too much taller in the next couple of months. She did intend to wear it all day today, but apparently the breakfast of egg found its way onto her sweater so now it has been washed and is drying on a towel in the laundry. She will have to wait until the weekend now to wear it again. The yarn is great too as she didnt even wear anything under it, and said it felt nice and comfy.
I would also love to thank you all for the wonderful comments left by all you lovely ladies on Florence. It really made my day to know that so many people appreciated my knitting!

I love this one, Sue! The colour looks so lovely on Isabelle, and I'm crossing my fingers for you that she doesn't grow too quickly!!

Gosh you're fairly cracking on with the FO's aren't you! This is another from the Little Knits book that is on my 'to knit' list. It looks great in that colour too,

What a pretty sweater! Isabelle looks lovely in it! I wonder if the pattern comes in adult sizes, too....I kind of want one for myself. :)

I was just thinking what Hillary said: Does the pattern come in adult size. Or how hard would it be to size it up.
Looks beautiful on Isabelle.
Hope she loves this one too and wears it a lot.

Hi Knitter Sue,

Lovely blue sweater - your daughter looks about as old as mine, aren't they fun to knit for? And Florence is adorable too - thought I'd check out your blog as you'd been kind enough to comment on mine lately -- are you on Ravelry too?

Will make sure I find an Aussie available yarn sub for you if you need one on that gray sweater...

What a sweet sweater! It has a bit of a regency feel to it, with that ribbon and the pretty bits at the bottom. Isabelle looks great in it, too -- tell her she has to hold off on growing for a little while!

This is such a pretty sweater. I found the patterns in general from that book have really long (adult-length) sleeves, and short bodies, so your mods are perfect!
