Double Breasted Knit Coat from Easy Knits by Claire Montgomery
Size: 1 - 2 years
Yarn: Cupcake yarn from Spotlight, 6 balls
Started: March 2008 I think, finished today
Buttons: from stash
I really love this pattern and the yarn is so soft and squishy but shows up the pattern very well.
I started it this year but of course it was another WIP that got set aside to knit other items in my basket. I am so glad that I finished this one as it turned out so cute.
Thank you too for the well wishes. We seem to be getting germ free, Isabelle is recovering from last week's sickeness but is still a bit tired out. She went to school for a half day yesterday and slept for nearly 3 hours when she got home. We then went to school for her interview which was fantastic. She is now reading at a Grade 2 level which is excellent. Lachlan's report was much better this year too which always reduces stress levels. Tomorrow the kids finish school for the next 2 weeks so I am hoping the weather is a lot nicer (and less windy) so we can do some nice things, and get outside a bit more too. Nothing worse than hearing I'm bored 20 times a day. Hopefully Paul's mum will still take the grandchildren to her house for a few days too, and they can spend some nice time at the beach as well. Okay that is about it for now, I am off to install a zipper in another finished knit.

Oh!!!! That is to die for!!!!!
this wasn't a book I was familiar with and library search informs me that there's none nearer than Melton - bugger - I may have to BUY it!
which is also my way of saying that I luuurrrve the little coat.
fab-u-lous!!
Tis is exactly the sort of baby knit that I love. It has a real vintage feel. Love that you've chosed a strong colour too.
What a cute sweater! It reminds me of the very popular version of the drop sweater for adults. BTW, my mother is a huge Shirley Temple fan too :)
Good to hear that all of you are feeling better. The coat is so....gorgeous! Love it.
Love this - what a great pattern!

That little coat is adorable!
Hi Sue - Hope you remember knitting the Double Breasted Knit Coat (your #24) as I am knitting it now and having some problem with the pattern. Did you discover an error on the Left Front? I am having to make some correction in the raglan part of that piece and wonder if you found this (or any other error) as I am a relatively new knitter. Many thanks - I hope my final project looks as great as yours does! Michelle
