2008 - FO's No. 45, 46 & 47

A few items have been finished up so I thought I would show them to you.
First up is the Utopia Hat that I knit for Isabelle. It calls for 5mm needles but I used 4.5mm needles so that it would be a bit smaller for her. It was a perfect fit but she says it is too hot to model it for you all. I used 1 ball of Patons Soft Haze in a tangerine color. It took 1 day to knit up.

Next up is the Cabled Beret from the new DB magazine. I used 2 balls of Patons Soft Haze in a raspberry color and I have to say that it does knit up to a beautiful soft fabric using 5mm needles. I am very tempted to knit Isabelle a luscious cardigan for winter out of this yarn and they have a great range of colors too. For only $1.99 a ball it is a bargain and I generally dont like fluffy yarn. This hat is destined to be a gift for my sister for Christmas and it took 2 days to knit up. It used about 2.5 balls of the yarn.

Lastly we all know this pattern. EZ's Baby Sweater on Two Needles. I decided to use sock yarn to knit up a practice one to see if I liked it enough to knit another one. This one turned out to fit Isabelle's doll which is probably a premmie size. I didnt put any buttons on as yet and I have to admit that I did have to rip a few rows out from time to time from watching tv and not paying attention to the pattern. I am thinking of perhaps knitting a larger size now for Isabelle. It took me 3 days to knit this one up and I only used a 100gm ball of sock yarn which I had purchased from Katt quite a while ago. I still have 2 skeins left and my sister loves the color (Boyson) so perhaps a pair of socks for her birthday in January are in order. I have knit a bit more on my own green socks and the second one is coming along nicely now so perhaps with the cooler weather this week I will be able to finish them off.

Thank you all too for sending me lovely comments on the sweater set and my ravelry swap pressie. I have been a bit slack for replying back to emails but do hope to catch up later this week.

That is such a cute doll! Where did it come from?

Your knitting is lovely. I have used Katt's wool too. It's nice isn't it?

Those are great projects. I had to do a double take to make sure that wasn't a real baby! :)

Raspeberry hat/beret is so cute! Love it.
As I can see around the blogs - many knit EZ's baby sweater and works every time! Coloureway is great!

The hats are terrific and the yarn is a real find! The BSJ is mighty cute and I'm sure Isabelle would like having one of her own :)

You have more finished projects than there are weeks.
I love the little EZ cardigan.
Do you need to increase the stitches to knit one for Isabelle?

Thanks for the visit to the blog and the lovely comment. I was going to ask how you jumped to my blog until I saw the EZ cardy - Katt! Aren't her yarns the bees' knees? I'm trying to work my way through some stash so I can 'earn' yarn bying priveleges. Katt's going to be my first stop over!

I've tried knitting the BSJ with no particular success. I'll try harder when I'm less sleep deprived. I've decided that EZ patterns belie their name - they ain't easy!
