Magoo Monkey

I am sure that most of you have seen the fabulous toy patterns over at Melly and Me. I attended a quilt in last year with my sister's quilting group The Willows, and they had a few stallholders there selling different items. I was pleasantly surprised to see that one stall had Melly and Me patterns and I just couldnt resist Magoo. I love monkey toys, let me tell you. He wasnt too hard to make either which is always great when you need to stuff legs and arms. I had cut him out quite a few months ago now and last night I sat down and completed him. Isabelle loves him and I adore his fabric. I dont know what the fabric is called, just that I bought the last of the paisley print on the bolt. I am one girl who loves paisley prints, although not those weird garish tones all together. This one is quite pretty. I used a fat quarter for his shorts and tummy and ear patches. Isabelle asked if she could take his photo for him to put up on the blog and I think she did a wonderful job. As you can see he is sitting on my bookshelf which holds some of my sewing and knitting books!

Oh just too cute! I'm going to have to sew more softies this year :)

Oh by the way, the wool I used for those socks was the 'autumn' merino cashmere sock wool from The Knittery, lovely colours :) I love knitting, I find it very addictive and I always have at least 4 things going at once!

the monkey is so sweet - i love his bibbed shorts! i must go and look at melly and me.

thanks for your comment about the cake. i think that pineapple is the classic version - studded with red glace cherries for that 70s touch! i have made that a few times over the years but nothing beats the plums. it was a new recipe that was in the paper the other day. added immediately to the recipe file!

i have spent virtually all day on the computer and soon it will be time to pick the kids up! i have done the dishes and hung out the washing at least!
