The Stitches and Craft Show

My sister, Isabelle and I ventured off to the craft show yesterday. It wasnt too busy either which was great for us. We got to enjoy all the stalls and see the products easily.

First off seeing all the stalls with the bloggers that we know and love to read. Justine from 62cherry was there selling Mixtape Zine, although I didnt get a chance to speak to her.

I did get to meet Jodie from Vintage Ric Rac and got to see her fabulous chair made out of selvedge and yes, all her creations are just as wonderful as they are on her blog, even more so. I bought her pattern, Kinder Girls, as I love her dolls and I am sure I can make quite a few nice ones for some girls this year as presents. I also saw her famous selvedge dress and umbrella and all I can say is Oh my goodness, how amazing! She told me that people from all over the world send them to her and she is extremely thankful for those generous people. Jodie it was so lovely to meet you in person, and you are just as wonderful as on your blog. She even said she would look up my blog and have a read so I hope she pops in soon.
I also saw Nichola from Nikkishell and she is just gorgeous, even prettier than on her blog. She was busy with the recreating site with lots of people so I didnt pop in and chat to her either unfortunately.

I did manage to find lots of little goodies for myself though. (It made me feel better and that is all I am saying to justify my purchases). I bought the lovely Sirdar knitting book and dpns from Craftee Cottage and the lady was so lovely and friendly. I could have bought more from there too but restrained myself. The book is full of lovely gorgeous patterns and has just been released. I also bought 2 of my favourite sewing patterns from Melly and Me, but I cant remember the name of the shop that I purchased them at. I popped into the Lincraft stall and bought some Snowflake yarn to make a scarf that every second person in that stall was wearing. They look so cool that I couldnt resist. I also bought some clothes patterns for my AK doll so she wont look so awful sitting there dressed in Isabelle's doll's clothes. They were so busy at that stall. I love all the things that they produce.
My sister was a little disappointed that there wasnt more quilting stalls for her to look at there. I did manage to see Kellie's new quilt too and it is just beautiful. The lady said that it had been very popular with everyone loving it and I do have to say that it is just stunning. I can see you have a very bright future with quilts Kellie, and perhaps one day a book with your own designs in it should be on the cards.

I sat up until midnight last night and knit 2 and half of the 3 scarves out of the Snowball yarn and loved it. I had to watch the video tutuorial to see how to use it properly but once I did they just flew off the needles!

I just wanted to say that I read each and every one of your comments last night, and Mr. Puffy was the one that made me cry this morning when I read hers. It does feel as though my circle of friends is very special, especially my crafty online ones who make me feel better just by writing to me so thank you very much. I appreciate your words very much and sometimes I dont feel all that strong but I am trying to hold it together. I was very angry last night when I found online an article about the company who had gotten us this loan as apparently they have done so to many others, and then they end up like us. I will be writing to ASIC to see what we can do about it too.

Dearest Sue, sorry but I was away for a couple of days. My little sister has had major surgery and I've been loitering around the hospital, checking on her. She's OK but still in pain.
You must be too. Losing your lovely home is a wound in your life but I hope it will heal. I have to say that I was heartbroken to lose my lovely house in Bacchus Marsh but at least I had my dream homefor a while. Some people never get near it. I'm about to buy a house again near where I'm living here in West Auckland. Hope you will get there again too.
Lots of love and thinking of you
Cheers Gillian

Thanks for dropping by my blog, it's always nice to hear from people. The yarn I bought was $15 per 100g of the pure Australian wool (works out to 3.75 per 25g) which aint too bad really since each skein should be enough for a little cardy!

I'm glad you had fun! It's so nice to get away from it all every now and then, eh?

Glad you had a good time at the Show and that Isabelle was able to go with you. I love the stuff that Jodie [Ric Rac] makes too!

Looking forward to seeing the scarves; I've seen that yarn and always steered clear - maybe your scarves will make me change my mind!

Good luck with doing something about such awful company's that get people in such a state that they end up losing everything. I hope all goes well with your decisions for the future.

I'm sorry to hear that you will need to move. Just think that you are all still togather and well. It's great that you were able to have some down time and forget about the difficult things going on. I love that having a hobby can do that.
Hang in there, I'm sure that things will be looking up soon.
