Vintage Baby Knits!

Now here is one of my latest purchases in knitting books, and I do have to say that I absolutely love it. Kristen Rengren has developed patterns for us modern knitters from the booklets produced in the 1920's to the 1950's and she has done a remarkable job! I own a few vintage booklets which my mum didnt want and I graciously bought home, and I really do love those patterns.
Kristen writes a little introduction to each period of time and has some remarkable patterns in each one. Most are in fine wool but that is what most people use for baby knits. Even sock wool is a great one for the yellow shawl at the bottom and the twin set pictured in the green and white. I think Kristen has really developed a special book here and I am definately going to knit up some of these. The only hard part is to choose
which one to knit up first! Enjoy browsing some of my favourites from the book.

That navy blue cardi looks remarkably similar to an old Patons pattern I have here!

Enjoy!

I recently got this book, too! It's beautiful, isn't it? I know you are going to be knitting fabulous stuff from it.

Yes, I have some vintage patterns too and although they are very attractive they definitely need re-jigging. The sizings are sometimes quite different.
This looks like a lovely book
Cheers Gillian

Looks like an adorable book. I am hoping things are going well for you. Life got so hectic. I have been teaching University classes and had NO down time with my almost 2 year old to knit:( Kennedy is very hands on:)

oh you always buy the best baby and kids books! but you are also so evil Sue...because I always want them!

I'll need 10 children just to wear things for all the books I own!

I probably have the original versions of most of these - or very similar - but will be looking out for the new book nonetheless.
When you're heading to Daylesford drop me a note and I'll pop over too if I can ... seems to me that you might be interested in my double-up vintage baby patterns ... yes ???
... and are you coming up for the Australian Sheep and Wool Show at Bendigo in a fortnight ?
