2009 - FO No. 23

Another FO, woohoo!!
Pattern: Ice Baby from Knit Today Issue 15
Yarn: Panda Magnum Soft, dark purple
and 1/4 ball of some boucle yarn
Started: 2009 - cant remember which month
Finished: July 2009
I pulled it out from the UFO basket to finish it off for my god-daughter. It will be her xmas present this year so it is extra big. She grows like a weed that girl I tell you, but she is extra cute!

This FO is not by me, but my mum. She wanted to knit Isabelle a poncho since the cabled one she knit a long time ago now no longer fits. This one was knit from my stash yarn of 8 ply spotlight yarn. There are 2 different pinks and 2 different purples in that stripey sequence and it is all MOSS stitch (or as some people call it seed stitch). i love how it turned out but I need to buy Isabelle a skivvy for the neck part so it doesnt irritate her skin. I seem to have the same problem with wool too. The pattern is from Shepherd Moda Issue 6 Book. It has a few other nice patterns in that book too. It only took her 2 weeks to knit it up and add the fringe. Now I am off to do some more knitting. I have finished 2 sets of the dolls clothes and my mum knit 2 others, and now is on the 3rd one as the one she had the pattern didnt make sense. We will see how we go after the weekend with knitting some more. I again have bronchitis and have been told it is from being out in the cold weather. I did attend my sister's quilt in group on Saturday but ended up leaving after lunch (yes the sickies) and went to the doctors. I guess I need to keep out of the cold weather but it is a bit hard when you have newspaper deliveries to do in the rain and the cold. Maybe I need to wear a balaclava instead of a scarf and hat.
Oh and I joined a washcloth swap which is being run by Jodie. I have already knit one up but I dont think the pattern pops enough in the cotton I used so I will find another pattern to knit up. It should be a lot of fun, I love doing those things. Okay that is it until I feel better or have another FO for you all.

I also have one weed-growing baby! Luckily I have got all clothes (worn by family and friend - why spending on something I don't realy have to, right) so my heart is still!
Love that sweater. When was preggo with Lola I bought some warm-yellow wool-ease and I knew it'll be for my baby this fall (will start knitting after get back from summer vacation in august).
And poncho - I used to be freaky about it - ponchos rule!

Get well soon! (tea tree oil is great for all kids of respiratory disease. But is realy wanna your home air to be clean than try to find majorana origanum oil - pricey but worthy)

What a great jacket, I am sure your god-daughter will look great it in.
Your Mum is an excellent knitter as well. Your daughter will love her new poncho. Love the colour combination's. Summer is finally here in London, hard to imagine that you are freezing in the cold.

I do hope you feel better soon, I never knew that Australia got cold enough to need a balaclava, just shows you how much I know! Love the little jacket you knitted and that moss stitch poncho is wonderful, your Mum did a good job on it!

Hi Sue thanks for visiting my blog. At the moment we don't do a box scheme because there are several on offer around Daylesford already and also because I personally think people need to choose their own fruit and veg. From this Spring we plan to open up from the farm gate for sales and a little bit of a farm experience. Your knitting is beautiful. I love both the cardi and the poncho. I'll be visiting again soon. Love Kate
