2009 - FO No. 27

The socks for my auntie are complete! I had to rip out the one in the last photo as I couldnt get the toe decreases right for some reason so I opted to fall back on a simple pattern I had used before. I started these on Tuesday and had finished them last night just before going to sleep. I wrapped them up this morning for Lachie to take them to my aunt's party. He travelled up with my sister so I stayed home with Paul and Isabelle. I wasnt really in the mood for a party with a slight headache the last 2 days so thought it best to just relax here. I really hope she likes them as they are quite nice to look at with all the wonderful purples changing colors and the wool isnt scratchy either. It might just encourage me to start knitting some more socks as I have about 4 different sock books now with wonderful patterns, and of course all those balls of sock yarn that I did show quite a few months ago now (could have been last year which I am sure it was). I just have to sit down some time during the week and decide on what color and what pattern (should be fun).
Thank you all too for your kind words about my back, must have worked because for the last 3 days it has been feeling great. The chiro did say that usually back pain is when the muscles in your body cant rid itself of tension so it builds up. Mine is of course caused by stress, and being a naturally anxious person does not help one little bit. With the dramas of the last few months it just caught up on me and my back was paying for it and sending pains through my chest cavity which wasnt very nice at all. I just have to learn to relax and let things go for now which will be hard but I have to try or it will return. I am so thankful that I could still knit during it which didnt cause too much pain to me otherwise I would have stopped all together until I was better, and it would have driven me just a little crazy. I have also been relaxing catching up with a few friends at the local swimming pool while Isabelle's class has their school swimming lessons. She is thoroughly enjoing it too and is exhausted by the time she gets home. She even fell asleep at 4:30 one afternoon as she was so tired. It doesnt help that on Wednesdays she has her normal lesson too.
I also dug through my UFO pile today and found a sweater I had been knitting up for Lachlan a few years ago now. I still love it but looking at it I dont think it will fit him now as he has grown so much. He is about 2 inches taller than me so I think I will finish it and give it to Paul as he loves my handknitted sweaters and it would be the perfect size for him. I dont know if Lachlan would wear a handknit sweater as he gets very hot most of the time and claims that it itches him around the neck. Maybe I will knit Lachlan up a blanket as he said the one my mum made him was way too short now and he would like it to cover his legs. Maybe I could start it as a yearly project instead, and hopefully he will stop growing for a little while. If he gets any taller he wont fit in his bed, he will have to hang his feet out over the end! Okay enough from me for tonight, it is getting rather late so I am off to bed! Goodnight all.

I have been in the same boat as you, with a headache for the last 2 days. It's getting very tiresome!

Those socks are fantastic Sue, I'm sure your auntie will love them. We drove through Melton last night and I thought, I wonder if Sue is near here knitting those lovely purple socks. I hope your head feels better soon. Happy Fathers' Day
