2010 - FO 4

Pattern:  Helena from Knitty
Yarn:  Bendigo Woollen Mills Harmony yarn (less than 1 200gm ball)
Started:  February and finished Monday when I stitched on the ribbon
Size:  12 months

I decided that my baby gift basket needed to be restocked with some new knits and as I looked through the basket I noticed that not very many in that basket were girl pressies so Helena got made for the next little baby girl that someone has.  I love the Harmony yarn, so pretty and it has a nice texture to it too although the green seems very washed out in this picture, not beautiful as it is in real life!  The pattern wasnt too hard to knit up at all (which I love).  I do hope some little baby girl will like wearing this one day!

Other knitting - some more baby knits from some Freedom pattern books that I purchased at Stitchery Blue (and yes I never showed you them either).  The blue socks are still sitting there looking half finished, well the first one is.  I havent been in the mood to knit them, although Isabelle did ask me this morning if I could knit her a pair of socks because those red lacey ones will now will be too small whenever I finish them off.  I might have to sell them to someone with small feet I think!  I will have to try and find the right size and pattern for Isabelle, nothing too intricate as I am sure they will succumb to that horrible habit Isabelle has of wearing her socks outside with no shoes on which drives me bonkers (trying to get that blasted red dirt off them).   I will have to explain that handknitted socks do not go outside the door unless there is a pair of shoes to cover them up!  Maybe my sister can teach her to love handknit socks like she does.

Nothing much else is happening around, still going to the gym and surviving (not that bad), although Monday after a 2 day rest of not doing much at all I nearly died after my workout! I felt as though I had just stepped out of the shower I was dripping with that much perspiration (although Paul said that it showed I was pushing myself and working out properly), should I take that as a compliment or not?  I cant be mean about him today though (he is rather good to me spoiling me with flowers and a giraffe statue on Valentine's Day) as he rather kindly dropped off Dillpickle's prize in the city today, so hopefully her sister will deliver it to her on the weekend for her!

Okay off to search for some socks to knit up for Isabelle or maybe start another baby gift .... cant decide!

Keep up with ANY exercise Sue!! I'm looking for more yoga classes. I really enjoyed it when I did it and must sign up somewhere again. My sister is doing "Curves" at her local place and "bums and tums" is common here at local centres so I have no excuse.
KEEP GOING
Cheers Gillian

What a sweet little jacket! I'm looking forward to the day when I can knit something quickly!

I'm sure I drove my mother completely mad with all the careless things I did to the things she knitted for me! I have a much better appreciation now of how much work goes into hand knits (and I'm only 33 ;-))

Please thank Paul for me - it was a very efficient and effective delivery process!!

xx
