2010 - FO NO 13

Pattern:  Rib Lace Socks from Little Box of Socks
Size:  Ladies Medium
Yarn:  Lush Yarn
Needles:  2.75mm

After having so much time sitting around knitting in the past few weeks, last night I saw my lonely second sock sitting there begging me to finish it up.  I only had 2 pattern repeats to do before the toe so after dinner I sat down and decided to finish them.  I absolutely love this color and the pattern shows up so nicely.  I havent blocked them but decided to put them on the sock blockers for the photo since my trusty photo assistant is at school this morning!  I have also cast on for Isabelle's stripey socks and have done quite a bit.  I am knitting them with the Noir spotlight yarn and they are turning out very nicely.  It is just a basic pattern and I am hoping I can finish them by the weekend before I cast on for anything else!

Health Update:  I have to say these past couple of weeks have been a real test for me.  It has shown me how much pain I can withstand (not that I wanted to find out actually) and how much Paul can actually do around the house (thank you so much honey)!  Today is the first day without having a swollen tummy and painful spasms.  I had to go back to the doctor's on Monday night and yesterday had blood tests.  Hopefully the results come back tomorrow.  The doctor thinks I may have coeliac disease but my sister and I tend to think it is Irritable Bowel Syndrome.  I popped into the chemist yesterday for some IBS tablets and today I feel so much better, almost back to normal.  My sister spoke to me on the phone the other night when I was very sore and uncomfortable and she has been diagnosed with the same thing a few years ago now and the pain was very similar.  I didnt realise how painful IBS could be until she told me.  So fingers crossed that when I speak to the doctor that IBS is what I have and that it will be manageable.  Thank you all too for sending me well wishes in the last post when I mentioned being ill, it is great to have online friends who make you feel better!  Okay enough about the sickness, it is time to get back to normal!

My Mum had IBS and it was not fun, but she did find way to deal with it.

Those green socks are gorgeous! I hope they diagnose you soon. Please rest up. It sounds really awful to be in so much pain and not know what it is.

What very cool socks!! One day I might produce something half that nice ;-)

It's horrid having difficult to explain stomach issues. I hope yours are identified soon! xx

Gorgeous socks, and stripy socks? oooohhhh... I love stripes!
Bowel spasms can be excruciating. I took iron tablets during my second pregnancy and ended up in hospital when 30 weeks pregnant as I thought there was something seriously wrong - it was bowel spasms... I was folded double in the bathroom with pain, unable to speak. (that's saying something for me ;-) I'm on iron tablets again now and although the pain isn't quite so bad (drinking lots and lots seems to help) it took me by surprise again how painful it can be. Hope you feel better soon and if it is IBS, that you can find a way to manage it.

Those socks look fantastic Sue! One day we will have to meet and swap crochet and knitting lessons. I think knitting socks would just be the best skill to have.
I hope you finally find out what's going on at the doctor's and can get on with managing it and getting back to normal. Pleased to hear the hubby is helping out though.

Stitches show amazing! Love it - both coloure and pattern!

Well - no one believes other one in pain until that happens to him/her! Hope you'll never have to experience it again!

I hope you figure out what is wrong and can fix it, or at least fix the symptoms! Love the socks, such a beautiful color.

Thanks for entering my giveaway.
It's always nice to find a new blog. Your knitting is amazing! I'm in awe... I definitely need more practice. Socks scare the willies out of me.
Strange thing to say, isn't it. I'm not really afraid of socks, just knitting them.
Have a great day & I hope your health gets better soon.
