2010 - FO No 14

Pattern:  Elijah by Ysolda
Yarn:  Bendigo Woollen Mills Melody - light blue, lime and beige
Started: 14th June 2010 and finished 16th June 2010
Made for:  Twin A due in October

I have had this pattern in my pattern folder for quite some time now and after seeing so many cute editions around ravelry knew this would be a perfect gift for an expected nephew.  The Melody yarn knits up beautifully on 3mm needles and my hands didnt feel very sore at all after knitting it.  I do have to say the hardest part to knit was the arms as it was a bit difficult to try doing rounds on 4 tiny needles with a big head in the way.  My ears seem to be finished a bit funny too, I think I should have casted them off and sewed them somehow instead of grafting them like that.  Hopefully when I knit the second one up I might be able to tweek it a little for the ears and it will turn out much nicer.  I added the little scarf as I couldnt resist rugging him up for winter.  I cast on 8 sts and just knit until it was the length required and then put a little stitch to keep the scarf from coming off.  The Melody yarn is quite nice and now I am trying to decide what colors to use for the next one.  Isabelle has put in a request for a girl version too but she will have to wait for a little bit.  Her birthday is in August so if I can sneakily knit one up for her whilst she is at school I am sure she will love it as a great surprise!  Okay off to knit some more ..... hope you all have a wonderful day and it isnt to chilly where you are!

Yes, Elijah has been very popular on Ravelry and around the blogosphere.

Glad you enjoyed knitting it since you have at least two more to do!

You did a great job on it. I love the scarf and sweater. Although it is so cool that it's knit seamlessly, it was pretty challenging at times to pick up the stitches for the limbs and ears.

Elijah is too cute! I love the sweater and scarf you have outfitted him with. It's funny how you are getting ready for winter at the same time we are starting our long, hot summer days here.

Elijah is adorable! You really did great job with it!
I've just read your diagnosis and let me know salmonela is pretty often here - since we are rural place where people grow their own food (hens, pigs eggs...)! So, when something goes wrong first we suspect - salmonela!

Now, since you really are tough coockie now you deserve special yarn treatment!
