I Think I Am Addicted to Crocheting Hats!

Okay I think Corrie has me addicted to crocheting hats which is a great way to use yarn.  I thought that I might crochet a few so I didnt forget how to do them and I think I may have gotten carried away with the idea of making some room in my stash too.  Apart from the aqua one you have seen before, the others are all made from Spotlight 8 ply wool.  The brown one at the top is for my sister.  The red and bright blue still need flowers made for them.  Isabelle's favourite is of course the black one and it does look so nice on her too, although it isnt a great color to photograph.  I was thinking I could give these as birthday gifts to Isabelle's friends as she has 3 birthdays to attend to soon.  The only problem is I think they all would want black ones and I have used up all the black yarn.  It is a color I hardly ever knit with so it was lucky I found those 2 balls in the first place.  Maybe I can convince them to have purple ones, havent tried that color yet!  All these hats and flowers were made in the last 2 days so I think it is a great effort and it doesnt make my arm hurt either.  Apparently knitting doesnt agree with my elbow at the moment but I must still try because I am dying to finish the test knit pattern so I can show you all.  I have nearly finished a 200gm ball of wool and I am not even up to the arms yet (but it is knit all in one piece).  Okay off to go do the grocery shopping and miss the after school crowds!

Oh my goodness, I must have missed the bit where you learnt to crochet. And look at you go. They look fabulous. Actually, now that I'm knitting it makes sense that you are crocheting.
I hope you have a great day.

It must be because they are so pretty that they are so addictive!

The hats are gorgeous. I can understand your addiction as I like crochet too - it's much faster than knitting.

my neighbor had cancer so my friend spun some yarn for me and i knit her a hat. the guage wasn't quite there... and you should have seen that thing! it looked like a four year old made it. i gave it to her anyway, because it was soft, my friend went to the trouble of making her the yarn and i thought it would feel nice on her tender scalp. well, i never saw her wear it, but she gets big kudos for not coughing and sputtering when she saw it!
i can now knit socks though, and i'm getting better, i just knit a beanie for my son for christmas.
what hat pattern did you use? i would love to make one for my 20 y.o daughter!
they are beautiful!!
