Baking!

Last week Isabelle and I were shopping at Watergardens and a lady there was making shortbread dipped in chocolate with sprinkles which tasted delicious.  We took the little recipe sheet home with us to try out.  Now as you know teenagers love being on the computer, and my son Lachie loves cooking.  What better way to get him off the computer for a while than to make some shortbread dough.  He didnt like the rolling out of the dough, and since it is very humid here today I got the task of it.  The heart ones were the easiest to cut since they didnt break up like the other shapes.  I let them cool and Isabelle and I melted some chocolate in the microwave and spread it on top, and then added the sprinkles.  They do taste very nice indeed.  I know what I will be baking a couple of days before Christmas Day this year.  I just hope I can save some for knitting group tomorrow, best hide the container before Isabelle sneaks them all!

They look so yummy, and very festive. The humidity makes rolling out biscuit dough very difficult, I usually do it between two pieces of baking paper.
