2011 - Item 6

Last week I received a lovely email from a lady by the name of Yumiko Sakurai who is a wonderful designer. She asked me if I would like to test knit one of her designs! What a lovely easy knit, although to be honest I was a bit worried about doing the Star Tweed stitch, but after figuring out MY mistake it was really rather easy and very pretty too. I knit this using 1 200gm ball of luxury 10 ply wool and just a smidge of navy luxury. I nearly used every last bit of the light blue yarn so that was great, no leftovers apart from a bit of wool to sew up around the shoulder seams. I just need to find the perfect buttons now (there is an alternative i-cord belt).
Pattern: Kira's Hooded Vest (test knit) pattern not released as yet
Size: 18-24 months (sizes go from newborn up to 24 mths)
Yarn: 10 ply luxury yarn, 1 (200gm) ball of light blue
10 ply luxury yarn, navy blue
Started: 20th January 2011 and finished 27th January 2011
Needle Sizes: 5mm and 4.50mm circulars
A thank you to Corrie too for recommending my name to Yumiko, and to Yumiko thank you for letting me test knit your lovely design

Cute! What size is it? I'm thinking a small child? I've started the bag, slow but steady!

Yumiko could not have asked a better person, it's a lovely vest/hoodie!!
Just changing the colour combinations would make it for a boy, or a girl!!!

That looks like a great pattern. Please let us know when we can see it published. It's going to look lovely on a little boy.

Wow, that is lovely. And how blessed you are to have friends who trust in your skills to test knit and help develop such lovely designs.
The colours are wonderful too, and good news that you managed to use every scrap of yarn.

Don't know why!
