2011 - FO 25

Pattern:  Rib and Cable Beanie from Cleckheaton Book 969
One size
Needles:  6mm dpns
Yarn:  Abuelita Merino Worsted, about 100 metres
This beanie has been waiting to be knit up for quite a while.  I ordered some yarns from Zigo Zago online store last wek and this beautiful grass green colorway was perfect for this hat.  I have to say though it was not thick enough for the pattern as it used 7mm needles, so I thought I would do it on 6mm needles and it turned out to be a perfect fit for Isabelle.  I think it makes her green eyes light up so nicely.  Wish it had been big enough for me but hats dont really suit me at all.

On another note ... guess whose brain finally worked out Lucy's tutorial for the ripple blanket!  I did try this pattern last year but just couldnt get the decreases or increases right for some reason.  Last night whilst knitting on another project I thought I would try again today to do some practice.  It worked out nicely although the first 2 decreases dont look that great in the blue color.  I will now be working out how large to make my blanket, probably single bed size and all my colors from my stash and will be crocheting hopefully quite a bit at night time to get some progress going (and so I dont forget how to).

Lovely hat, lovely smile! She seems happier to model this time!

Do you have short hair? It seems that hats work best on people with long hair! My DD definitely looks better in hats than I do!

I especially love the green hat and Isabella looks lovely!! I am yet to find a hat I want to wear.
Isn't it funny how your mind must have been thinking about that ripple crocheting all this time and had worked out the kinks!! Looks great!!

That is a lovely beanie! The green is such a vibrant and happy colour. Perfect match.
I can't wear beanies either but love making them for others.
If you like that green, you should have a look at the 'Verdes' in the Malabrigo Chunky. Pretty delicious too.

I must try that ripple rug too - Sue can you tell me the best place to get a tiny tea leaves cardigan pattern for Martha - she will need about a size 10?

thanks xxL
