Our Beloved Jake

Jake our 12 year old kelpie passed away at home with us today.  We will miss him very deeply.  It is hard to lose a member of your family so suddenly.  He had trouble walking around the last 2 days and wasnt eating or drinking much so we knew what was happening.  We were all with him when he passed away and felt so heartbroken that we had lost him.  I dont think I have cried that much in a very long time.

He was a very beautiful dog, full of wags and kisses whenever he met someone he liked.  He wanted to be friends with anyone who would throw him the ball to play soccer.  He liked to go down to the dam when we moved so he run like a bunny rabbit with his ears up running through the long grass.  It was like he was a puppy again.  I am glad that he had a happy well loved life and he gave us so much in return too.

We love you so much Jake and hopefully you have some doggie friends wherever you have gone and are happy again, as we will miss you very deeply

Oh I am sorry to hear about poor Jake but I am sure he had a wonderful loved life. It is sad that pets just don't live as long as humans and they are so much part of the family. Thinking about you.

Oh Sue, sending my condolences too. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. It feels near to home. Our big old boy is eleven and we are noticing old age catching up with him too. My father in law has warned me that his time may come before the year is through. I'm heart broken already at the thought and can only imagine how you are feeling. Take care. xx

Oh Sue I am so sorry for your loss. We haven't had to deal with the loss of a pet, our dog is 11 and varies between bouncing around the yard like she is still a puppy and other days she looks old and arthritic.
I can't imagine how hard this week has been for you. Hugs xx

Dearest Sue, So sorry to hear about Jake too.
What an Easter! Dave is ill in bed and very bereft. I was going to wait awhile before getting a new kitty but Dave needs one now! so we are off to a Bengal Cattery tomorrow to choose a new kitty. We still won't be able to pick her up till June! They have to be 13 weeks old before they leave their Mum.
My thoughts are with you
Love Gillian

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your dog Sue. He looks like such a cute, happy dog. I'm glad you were with him -- I've always been so sad that our last dog died alone. I came home to check on her and she was gone. I hope you will have only fond happy memories of your sweet dog!

Oh Sue, I am so sad to read that Jake had died, I am having a little cry because I know how you must all feel. What a beautiful boy he is in those pictures and what a very happy and friendly dog too. He will be running happily with all his doggy friends in Dog Heaven. (Maybe he will meet Harki!!) Take care and I know that it will be hard at first but there will come a time when you can remember Jake and smile and feel happy. Love and wiggly waggly tails.
