No Pictures Today

I planned a post earlier in the week but then got sick with a headcold/cough virus that has been going around. I was in bed all day Tuesday, and Wednesday night went to bed at 6:00 feeling as though my head was about to explode. Paul has it as well although he is starting to feel better and Isabelle was coming down with it last night too. Lachlan seems to have escaped it so far as he is never here anyway, always around his friends which perhaps is a good thing as I dont want another sickie to look after. Tilly the kitten (who I discovered last week is actually a boy) now has a new name which is MAX. He has been keeping everyone company though and having some great naps.

Knitting has been happening but only to relieve a lot of worry lately. Last week we found out that my wonderful beautiful SIL has cancer. She is only 40 years old and has suffered from Chron's disease (Jane will know all about this stress too) since she was 15/16 years old. She has endured many operations and never ever complains about all the pain and misery that she suffers. Last week she was admitted to hospital and they discovered she had cancer but they havent discovered where it has originated from as yet so they dont know what kind as yet. I spoke to her today and nearly cried on the phone with her, thinking of her own family and my niece and nephew and BIL too. I know my BIL has done so much for her and is very stubborn too, so I made it quite clear we would do anything for them, especially if they need someone to watch the kids. We only live 15 minutes apart. I am so upset I cant see her in person since I have too many germs at the moment, so I am hoping by the weekend we are all germ free and can visit her. She is about to start chemo soon so I would like to make sure she doesnt catch any germs from us beforehand. She did ask me to knit her some hats if her hair falls out, and we had a little giggle about that. I will have to make sure to look up some lovely patterns to knit up for her and perhaps a blanket or wrap she can wear too. The winter weather has been so cold here lately so I am thinking maybe that will help her feel warmer too once she starts medication.

If my posts are few and far between please understand which I know you all will. I have a few little things to show later on but for the moment I am taking a little break of a week or so to recover and hopefully help out too with my SIL. I will still be blog reading though which I hope will help take my mind off things now and then. Make sure to hug your loved ones!

Sending all positive energy to your SIL. As for the hats, I knit one of the Fiber Trends felted hats for my friend during chemo and she loved it! Very warm for the winter.

Sorry to hear about your SIL but it's good that she has you. I went thro' 3 years of cancer treatment with my sister, so I do know how precious it is to have someone around. Take care.
