2008 - FO No. 28

Pattern: Design F Cardigan

Cheeky Chinos Book 297 Sirdar

Size: 1 - 2 years (56 cms)

Yarn: Sirdar Snuggly DK, 3 balls

Started: May Finished 3 July 2008

I loved knitting this wonderful sweater, so easy and nice. I handstitched the zipper in so I think it turned out okay. The green is actually brighter than in the photo but for some reason (perhaps the grey clouds outside) it wasnt picking up the color so well. I love knitting patterns from this book and they always turn out so nice and arent too complicated.

Tomorrow I should be finished the first little premmie jacket which is so adorable and so tiny. Isabelle thought I was knitting her baby doll clothes until I explained that twin premmies are usually very tiny. Hopefully I will be able to take a photo tomorrow of it and show you all.

I also got to visit my SIL yesterday. She has been moved to a hospital which is closer and easier for her family to get to. She is doing much better. She was admitted 2 weeks ago now to have an urgent operation and is still recovering from pnemonia as well. She was even sitting up in bed yesterday. She still looks very tired and fragile too. We all realise though that her time with us is very limited and hopefully she can go home and spend time with her family. I just wish that I could wave a magic wand and take all the evil cancer out and make her well again. She is such a strong spirit and has fought a long hard battle with her illness too. Okay enough about that or I will start crying whilst I am typing and I dont want to go into it all too much. I think in times like this you realise your time on this earth is really not that long at all is it. As I approach 40 I do realise that more and more and it freaks me out a little too. I admire all those people that squeeze as much into life as they possibly can and dont sit still for a minute. Perhaps I am just squeezing in as much knitting as I possibly can.

I hope you all have a wonderful lovely day. Thank you all so much too for your lovely compliments on my knitting, it makes it all worth it to hear from you.

I have that pattern book too and it's so neat to see the projects. I really like the colour - what a great sweater (I seem to like your colour choices don't I?).

I am very sorry to read about your SIL. I am often at a loss for words when it comes to things like this. I've had a few people in my life deal with cancer. I just hope she can go home soon and be with her loved ones soon.

Everything looks so pretty, Sue! My faves are the yellow coat and the bolero cardi your daughter is modelling. When you said obsessive in your tagline, you sure weren't joking.

What a dear little sweater! You certainly are prolific in getting your UFPs turned into FOs!

Sorry about your SIL. I am going through the same thing with a dear dear friend and also tear up at the drop of a hat!

What I lovely sweater. You are doing so well banging out the FOs.

I am very saddened to hear what you SIL is going through. My best friend has battled cancer since he was 24 and was recently re-staged. There are no words to explain the emotions, but I guess maybe I can relate in some way to your situation, dealing with my own right now. I hope you get to spend as much time with her and your family as possible. *hugs*
