My daughter turns 9 today, my how quickly that has gone by. She is growing up so fast. I still remember Paul driving me to the hospital at 3:30 in the afternoon because I was having contractions. My auntie was staying with us so we dropped her at my parents house with Lachlan and off we went. I really thought I would be coming back home later on in the day so didnt think too much of it. When we reached the hospital they put me in a bed and put one of those tummy belts on me to test the contractions. I was told that this was it and I wasnt going anywhere. Okay so we sat around waiting for things to happen until 8:00 that night. My doctor arrived and told me he was going to break my waters - I skipped that part with Lachlan and I have to say it was so painful. After that things rushed along, me trying to walk down to the delivery room with Paul, and then before we knew it Isabelle had arrived just after 10:00. I think the thing I remember the most was the midwife showing us her head before she came out and how much hair she had, and then us both looking at her when she was born and realising that we had a baby girl. Paul got to feed her as I was a bit weak and shaky and I think he was on cloud 9 that night. He was and still is absolutely besotted with his daughter! She was so skinny and long but weighed 9'2 so she wasnt exactly light, lol!
I have to say that I really love having a daughter, all the things you get to share and do together. It isnt the same with a son, but I do love him to bits too. Here are some things I love about her
- she loves to draw
- she loves cuddles
- she has a temper (and sometimes I just have to laugh which frustrates her, otherwise I would go
mental but it does add personality)
- she loves her 6 best friends very much
- she loves her pets too, and I think Bella the cat is the favourite
- she always tells me what she is feeling, whether it is good or bad
- she loves to try new things
- she loves to exercise
- she loves to spend time with her pop in the garden helping him
- she loves to play uno games with her dad at nighttime
- she likes to stir her brother up (which doesnt always end well, lol)
Happy Birthday my sweetie, we love you very much and am so happy everyday that we were lucky enough to have you in our little family!
On Sunday we will be having a party with her 6 best friends and her 3 cousins. I will be spending today making some hair clips and other little goodies to go in their bags, and tomorrow will be spent making jelly cuips and other yummies for them to eat. I think we are having about 25 people all up as we have relatives coming too so it will be a busy day. Luckily both children have the day off on Monday so they can recover from the activities.
