School holidays are nearing the end here in Melbourne. We have been doing a few things, like having sleepovers, going to the movies and on some drives. Yesterday we went to Kyneton to visit Pick Up Stitches so I could buy my mum something for her birthday in a week or so. We met Karyn there who is a very talented blogger and smocking expert. Mum found some things she liked and I bought yarn for a sweater and a pattern (next post will have progress on that). I really do love that shop and the atmosphere there as it is very relaxing. Mum liked it too having never been there before. We then popped down the road to have a pie for lunch and then drove home amongst all the roadworks. They seem to be everywhere around our area lately. Anyway onto the cute kitty photos. One of my client's cats had 3 little kittens and this shy one didnt have a home. My sister's friend ended up taking her and fell in love immediately. We had her at our house for a few hours. Here she is modelling on the couch in the study. She really liked having her photo taken but I think it wore her out. In the next photo she has fallen asleep in my little sewing nook behind my sewing machine. Luckily Jessica who has taken her is a sewing maniac so Snowflake will have lot of fabric scraps to play with.
Doesnt she look so cute all curled up asleep. She got lots of cuddles from Lachlan and Isabelle, and if I didnt have 3 cats already I would have kept her. Anyway I think I have finally finished unpacking the last few boxes and the study/craft room is looking a lot better.
This was in Isabelle's room at the old house but now she has some different little cupboards in her room so we took this bookshelf out (which my dad built). It now holds all my knitting books in it. Up above are most of the toys I made, apart from the AK doll and the bilby. In the box below holds yarn and some batting so it is nicely tucked away. The rest of my yarn is in plastic tubs in the garage as Paul doesnt want yarn hiding in nearly every room again like last time, lol! There are quite a few tubs out there and visitors are surprised when Paul tells them what is in them. I make sure to make a quick exit so I dont have to hear the comments as not all people knit do they! So hopefully I can show some pics of the rest of the house when I have some time. I dont think Isabelle's room will be photographed as yet as she decided late last night to go through her wardrobe to take out clothes that no longer fit. Let's just say we are on about the 5th garbage bag so far and she is still going. Some clothes go back quite a while so I guess it is great that she is doing it now. I think that is all for now but I hope to be back on Monday or thereafter to show you my knitting progress.

Aww, thanks Sue, you are very kind. I am glad you had a good day in the shop, it is such a nice place to work.
I love your bookshelf with the box for your yarn. Thanks to my Dh i have great shelves for all my stuff but not tubs/boxes to store things in. As for keeping it out in his shed; wouldn't happen here! You have a very understanding hubby LOL!
I'd quite like the wardrobe fairy to come and take out my clothes that don't fit...and just generally take 5 big bagfuls of ummm....clutter!
Hi Sue! So good to hear what you have been up to. It sounds like you are settling in to your new place very nicely!
oh kitties are so much fun! even if only for a couple of hours...
looks like your getting settled in nicely - the shelf looks great! i need to channel some of your organization myself.
When I put linens, yarn, or bedding in cupboards or storage tubs I allways add some cheap lavender soap, it stops insects from causing damage and keeps things smelling nice instead of musty.
We still have a couple of weeks before the new school year starts. It will be hard to get back to school routine.
Awwwwm what a cute little kitty. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we had the space (and laps) to have as many kitties as we want? Looks like you're getting all settled in!
Gorgeous cat! Thanks for visiting my little Blog.

Oh my gosh there's nothing cuter than a sleeping kitten! Especially when you're just kitten sitting and can send them home before they get frisky!
